it's great winning this competition, but it's obviously the lowest priority for the club where we are now. It's not just Wednesday's game where it's a stretch on resources, it's also potentially a 2 legged semi and Wembley final to fit into an overloaded schedule. However, come the game, I won't want anything but a city win!

to be fair, with players out in Paris for the awards, Haaland off to random Sweden league game, this match is not considered important at all and quite a few injuries anyway, I assume Spurs manager will do the strongest 11 and want to beat a City side who is not really in this game mentally. not a fan of throwing competitions, but the squad is short, and our transfer window did not help us rectify it, and on top of that we sold Alvarez too without replacement, and due this is quite a few extra games if we want to win it with 2 legged semis in January especially now with 2 CL games in January too which is a new thing, I guess Carabao has to be the one we let go.

I do hope tho Arse, dippers, rags, Chelsea all go through and face each other next round rather than some easier fixture where they can rotate a lot.

Spuds odds have significantly shortened since the weekend, they were 12/5 and now 6/4. Think once Pep announces his team the Spuds will be around 2/5, I think the pro punters are steaming in, no complaints from me if we play a very young, inexperienced team.

The mugs might be steaming in Tottenham could have forster in goal Ben Davies Jed spence and tino werner starting and Pep could be bluffing and we will go much stronger than expected.

I very much doubt it, Postegcoglou has already said he wins trophies in his second season and Pep said he will not be playing a strong team. It's not "mugs money" bringing the price down, it's probably hard cash from serial good judges, we'll see and I'll hold my hands up if you're right but I honestly think our team tomorrow will be the weakest ever fielded by Pep.

We might get some hints if there are any training photos released today and some EDS players are there. Also Peps press conference is 12.30.

Based on who needs rest and who is out we will probably need a rb, a winger and a striker from the academy, assuming we set up like below

Ortega
Rb stones ake JWE
Nunes gundo o Reilly
Mcatee FW WInger

could see foden playing in false 9 but hope he doesn’t, can’t see savio playing as only fit winger, so will at least be 2

Most of our injuries tend to happen between games. You hear nothing then get a nasty surprise when the team sheet comes out and somebody is missing.

For this reason, I don't care what team he puts out, I just want a strong bench to put my mind at rest...

Well we learned nothing from the Presser about tomorrow's game! Hopefully the questions will be asked and we get more info later.

Can we assume Haaland wont be involved since he went to Malmo and Pep didnt seem to know that he had gone there at the press conference. So assume Pep has given Haaland a few days off.

Probably cant rule him out, most of the 1st team were probably given a day off.

I'd be shocked and slightly annoyed if he was involved in this but I don't think him being in Malmo has any influence on it. players get days off semi-regularly and are often free to fly off wherever, he could very easily be at a match in sweden last night and be training in Manchester this afternoon.
