Injuries 2024/25 | Ake & Bobb return to training

Our starting 11 still remains pretty solid. But our squad is now absolutely paper thin. Aside from Haaland, who do we have as a genuine goal threat this season?

I said it at the time so I'll say it again, we had a poor transfer window in the summer imo. It was madness to let Alverez go for £82m and not sign a replacement.

Now we will try to sign someone in January, whether we suceed or not is a different kettle of fish. But we will be buying from a position of weakness as everyone knows Rodris out and the other long term injuries that we have.:-(

And this is further testament to Pep and the team with their ability to adapt and be fluid in the positions they play.

I'm just going out onto the ledge :-(

10 weeks until the window, top of the league, comfortable in the CL and all without the worlds best player.

Update us after Bournemouth, away, Sporting Lisbon, away, and Brighton, away. With Spurs, home, Feyenord, home, and Liverpool, away to follow.

The PL Injury site has:
  • Rodri, Bobb, Walker, Grealish, Doku, De Bruyne as definitely out.
  • Gvardiol, Savinho and Akanji being assessed but also says Savinho is ruled out.
That leaves us with the 3 keepers, Ake, Dias, Lewis, Stones, Wilson-Esbrand, Foden, Gundogan, Kovacic, McAtee, Nunes, Silva and Haaland.

Stones and Ake could join the non-combatant list at a drop of a hat, and Dias is reported to be struggling.

Just 12 outfield players so we will need the likes of O'Reilly, Wright, Braithwaite and others to make up the numbers.

Going to be a rough ride lads.

We have had a better than expected start, we would have taken it if offered before the season started.

The loss of Rodri was a nightmare, but Jan should see Bobb nearly back and the young kid from Argentina could be a proper wild card.

Arsenal are nothing special, the ones to look for are the dippers, Slott has done well but let's see what he is like after a couple of bad results.

We went into the season with 19 senior players and that includes Carson. No one could foresee an injury list like we've got but every season we do seem to struggle with injuries. Everyone could see we needed cover for Rodri but yet again we gambled on him being able to play another 60 games and it's fucked us.

Nunes. I saw a stat He’s making a goal or assist every 75 minutes. That more clinical than Haaland. He has snatched that left wing spot and become one of the best in his position

The team that starts on Saturday will probably only feature 3-4 players who've scored a PL goal this season, and we're almost a quarter of the way

That actually concerns me more than the injuries, especially as Gvardiol, Stones, and Kovacic have arguably overachieved.

Time for Foden and Gundogan to step up.

Big Erl will carry us through.
