All the hallmarks of his third season at Barcelona.

We will still be there or thereabouts in all the remaining competitions but with a tactically tired team and ageing squad I think we are seeing the beginning of the end of the Pep era.

I think he leaves in the summer and hands the rebuild over to a new coach with the new DOF.
I don't see how that works with the Club World Cup

Surprise, people who never post here when we win are posting now telling us how the best manager of all time can't fix this.

Sure, playing O'Reilly and McAtee is the solution you geniuses. Nothing about having 8 key players injured and having an aging midfield.

Despite of that, we are 2 points from the top and in the first 8 in UCL.
Nobody is digging him out, but as you say we have injuries and a lot of them are playing through it, but he'd rather not bring on a youngster.

Whose fault is it we have an aging midfield, you say it like it has just cropt up out of nowhere. The midfield is literally what we will have all season, KDB is done.

Needs to get the brain going and come up with something different. Injuries / fatigue are obviously a big issue, but the system looks horrible at the moment. Shite pressing, gaps everywhere, very little cohesion in our attacking.

This is all on him. The glaring problems have been clear for weeks and we've not changed a single thing to rectify it meanwhile our opponents continue to exploit it and cannot believe how easy it is to do so. It's no coincidence that the opposition keep on creating the exact same glorious chances so easily every single game. It's nothing to do with the players or subs he does or doesnt make, individuals aren't going to fix this, it's the setup that's the problem and this will continue to happen until he fixes it regardless of who is on the pitch.

Were going to suffer against Brighton even worse than today. pep needs to cancel whatever holiday he has planned for the international break, get players who aren't fit to pull out of international duty and get them working on shape on the training pitch and sort it out so we can stop looking like a sunday league side. Awful and there's no defending it.

The club will see that competition as a cash cow, play a few games, play the reserves and a few first teamers and go home.

I wouldn't even rule out a few European teams boycotting it.

Sure, O'Reilly is the solution.

McAtee who was incaoable of doing anything with Sheffield is the solution...cmon, our midfield is awful, but none of them will be better and it is damn obvious.

Txiki!! Now Pep is in charge of incomings too? He wanted Guimaraes and Paqueta, two very physical and capable guys and he got none.

I’m pretty sure he’s in charge of incomings too a degree. I mean everything we hear is about how the board are desperate to get him to extend, seems neglecting his wishes off getting in younger players is an odd way of going about it.

You do understand that the doctors told him he could only play 10 minutes right? You could see how he was not fit (his burst of speed was way lower than usual).

Genuinely the comments here are so damn stupid.
Ok didn't know that, sorry.

He has been very public about admiring those two players. If Gundogan wouldn't have offered himself, Txiki would have gotten none for the midfield. Snd yet, here you sre saying that Pep is the main guilty of our squad? What?

Subs came in a bit too late. Bournemouth pressed us very well but we should have used the free spaces better.

I’m sure there was more options, if it’s this fault then so be it but Pep is not helping himself. So many poor decisions this season from him. De bruyne shouldn’t have played against inter, we haven’t seen him since. Said he will waste no energy in the caraboa and went and done the complete opposite and ended up with more injuries. Why is he starting Gundogan every game, just play wright for a game ffs.

Hopefully today puts to bed the sideways passing midfield trio starting together
