We're usually about 8pts behind at this point and Arsenal or the tramps fans are usually doing the conga celebrating winning the league in December, so to be only 2pts behind at this point and not being at the top of our game plus the horrendous injury list isn't too bad in my eyes.

Last season we took 7 points out of a possible 18 available (DDDLWD) from November to Christmas. We then won 18 & drew 3 until the end of the season.

I thought it was about playing rugby not going into combat
You probably never watched the All Blacks in the 60s 70s and 80s. They were the dirtiest teams ever to play rugby. Even now they sail close to the wind of illegality regarding the laws of the game, laws which are usually introduced to benefit the southern hemisphere teams and hamper the northern hemisphere teams.
PS. As we know to our cost professional sport is bent and corrupt to the core.

The haka needs binning off for away games. Special rules for certain teams is nonsense. If they don’t bin it then teams should be allowed to do whatever they want when it’s happening (within reason). I’d encourage supporters to sing as loud as they could or turn their backs.
Or do a Bernardo and just stand there with a coffee in a mug and a Woodbine.

My favourite comment about David Connor came from Alan Ball. He was followed all over Maine Rd by Connor and after the game checked behind him to make sure that Dave was not getting on the coach as well.
In1967-68 Dave Connor was tasked with close marking Ball in the game at Goodison. He not only did that brilliantly but also found time to score the opening goal. The game finished 1-1 after Ernie Hunt scored a ridiculous miles offside equaliser. Even he stopped playing until he realised the linesman hadn't flagged him offside. That shit decision could have cost City the title but fortunately it didn't.

All these years I thought it was at our place. You will be telling me that they had a good team at the Swamp next. :-)

I think that a rugby crowd (especially for an International match) usually shows the utmost respect for the opposing team's national anthem.
The Haka is a cultural offer from the All Blacks or Island countries (e.g. Samoa,) to engage in combat.
I thought the Samoans pushed their luck in the first game in terms of the proximity of their little pre-game dance routine and were lucky not to have caused a bit of handbags. But they got the balance right yesterday.

It is an usual precursor to a match, so why not enjoy it and admire it's individuality ?
Cannot imagine many of the English front row wanting to Morris Dance though ?
The one in the rugby league game last week went a bit too far. They were actually walking up to the England lads and pressing their heads into the England players!

Didn't see the Rugby League International.
But, a RL crowd is very different to a Union one...

At the present time you probably couldn't argue with this:

We have lost one game in the premier league and are sitting in second and we are malfunctioning?

Dowd actually scored the equaliser in a 1-1 draw against Bury at Maine Road. His arm was in a sling.

The other goal was scored by Colin Bell in his league debut.
Cheers, knew it was Bury, but thought it was the winner.
