I’d put Foden as a midfielder but he’s playing more as a winger again. Rico similar as he’s playing right back mostly. No idea why McAtee doesn’t play.

We will, but we were never pushing out KDB,and I think next summer those midfield spots will open up and we will bring in younger players. Wouldn’t be surprised if KDB, Gundogan, Kovacic maybe even Bernardo all move on, as well as Walker and maybe a keeper. I was expecting a midfielder in but maybe things just line up better for doing it next summer.
Plus one week I’m leaning to Pep staying another week him going, this week a bit more towards him going.

Our aging team is starting to look like the old folks home that the GPC left the rags with.

Might surprise a few on here but some of the names we will be linked with in midfield we probably won't know as fans. Thats what Hugo Viana does looking at articles, he doesnt sign the world class player now , looks for a player that can make that jump. From lower clubs in the league or Europe.

With transfer fees sky rocketing. From what Hugo Viana has done in the past we could have a rebuild in midfield for less than 100 mil.

Fine by me, but the names available to him at City will be nothing like those available to him at Sporting.So thinking players he signed in Portugal give a clue to who he signs for City could be way off.

Literally none of them are 24-29.

Although keepers tend to have a later prime than outfield players that’s true.

So it’s a random age range invented by yourself Gvardiol doesn’t qualify because hes only 22 right. Like everone reaches their prime and lose it at the same age ridiculous idea. The only players that are maybe past tneir peak are KDB, Walker Gundogan. Possibly Bernardo and Kovacic are just slightly starting to decline that’s it. We have 16 /17 players to build on. At the most we need to replace 4, only more if a keeper leaves.

He needs to up the quality of signings
Gvardiol is the only top class player we’ve bought in the last couple of years

Kovacic, nunes, gundo, Phillips have done little for our midfield
no backup centre forward
No backup holding midfielder
No decent fullbacks

We’re now running on empty
 
I have a feeling, no more, that he'll be an upgrade on Txiki. That's not to denigrate the latter's work, but he did work with Barca and City, 2 clubs with plenty of cash and pulling power.
Viana has by all accounts turned Sporting around both by getting excellent under the radar players in as well as spotting a very talented coach before anyone else.

It will be interesting to see what input he has re our next manager. Presumably as DOF quite a lot.
 
Not sure how people have managed it but this thread has descended into another depressed the end is nigh. You would think we are nailed on for relegation not comfortably in second place, sadly a lot of our fans are morphing into the self entitled fans like the Rags we have always detested
 
With the fraud Edu leaving our club without bothering to tie down Saliba and Saka down to new deals, Viana masterclass in bringing them both to man city?

Not so much saka, i think hes massively overrated but top gooners tell me hes better the mahrez.
