Coventry City

Football owners, ffs.
League 2 to almost getting into the PL in 5 seasons, whilst playing ‘home’ games at Birmingham and Northampton and being a toenail offside from beating the Rags and getting to the cup final. Having a bit of a hangover from that was only to be expected, I’d have thought so, the obvious solution is to sack the manager.
I’d imagine he’d be sacking Pep after the last week (Swales probably would have….)

Sad to see Coventry have sacked Mark Robins. Absolutely ridiculous. He's done a brilliant job there getting them promoted twice. They will regret this and he will be successful somewhere else for sure. His services will be in demand.

We did similar with Joe Royle, although we’d got relegated again.

Maybe it was just time for Bobbins to move on and a new approach needed.

As you suggest, he’ll get another job at somewhere like Hull or Stoke quite quickly.

Yeah, definite similarities but Joe had probably run his course and we needed a more modern, flair approach. Not sure the same applies to Robins and Cov, though.

Reading between the lines, some of the players were not happy with Robins assistant manager so the club replaced him over the summer with a different structure, which has had them struggling this season (although they did go on a terrible run in the last few games of last season)

I also think losing Callum O'Hare & Kasey Palmer didn't help.

For championship level they have some really good players and one that should be around the playoffs, so to be at the wrong end of the table has maybe forced Doug King to panic and pull the trigger.

The majority of their fans are not happy, and even less so that Lampard is the early favourite.

Crazy decision. Up (down?) there with Brum sacking Eustace, and "TWGC™" sacking Poundland.
