Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

But why do that?

Why not just bring a new guy in, let him choose who he wants staying/going and avoid the situation you refer to?

You'd actively get rid of our greatest manager ever, the best manager in the world currently, who knows the club knows how to win things, has been loyal and vocal in support of some accusations, who wants to be here for at least another year.. just because some new 'kid' that might not even be available or appropriate might not like players we might buy 8 months from now?

Ffs mate. Have you run out of butter?

What ever the case just needs to be decided soon enough can’t be going in too the business end of season still undecided who our manager is going to be in the new season

That will do for me.

Another 1 year after that and so on and so forth.

It’s how pep rolls.

Few blips and people want rid? Its overreaction social media style.

Quick dump the most successful manager of his time. This place is like trump Twitter, mental.

We don't want rid of Pep.

But now there's a different job needed (a rebuild) and we can't have a rebuild with a manager that commits to one year at a time (likely this will be his last contract with us anyways).

Preference is obviously Pep oversees the rebuild.

A new contract in this international window may get a reaction from the players for the upcoming games
Not sure why that would be, if he is staying the players would have known for sometime.

Our recent defeats are down to injury and fatigue not lack of effort/motivation.

First 45mins at Brighton showed these player's want it more than ever.

I can see some merit in a 1 year extension, it gives Viana a season to get his feet under the table before the new manager is appointed, especially as his mate Amorim has chosen the dark side so it's likely Viana and the new boss won't have worked together before. That will be a big change from Txiki and Pep being virtually joined at the hip and able to iron out differences of opinion over a meal and a couple of bottles of wine.

I assume Viana is going to have the final say on transfers with the new boss so 12 months working with Pep on the squad refresh makes sense to me.
