Injuries 2024/25 | Ake & Bobb return to training

Is it a week off for our first team players who aren't in their international squads then?

I see Pep is in London on a break

Doku with a new injury. hell is this kid made of.

I read somewhere when we bought him he suffers from Baastrup's disease which is a chronic degenerative spine condition which flares up and causes pain and discomfort but I cannot for the life of me find anywhere on the Internet to corroborate this! The club hasn't released his injury but would explain a lot.

Apart from part of his spell with Bournemouth, and the treble season with City, to my mind, Ake has always been injury prone. Once you start struggling with hamstring issues, it only tends to go one way - the intensity of the game is so demanding these days.
I'll be amazed if we get very much out of KDB in the future, after having that operation, and now he's struggling to recover from whatever the issue has been over the last 4/6 weeks. Praying that he can get back to something like normal, but, at 33 and after that surgery, frankly, I can't see it.
Then add Kyle Walker who's struggling and Ilkay who suddenly seems past his sell-by date - coupled with no Rodri till next season - no wonder Pep's looking glum.
It never rains....

I think Doku had injury problems before we bought him but did Ake, Grealish and Dias as they always seem to be on and off the treatment table these days.

Dias? This is his first injury in nearly 2 years.... personally don't think he belongs alongside Ake and Grealish in terms of players who get regularly injuredScreenshot 2024-11-14 at 16.07.02.png

What's the latest on Bobb's recovery?

Initially we were told 3-4 month but it was then claimed that Bobb's recovery was ahead of schedule and he might be ready by mid January (which is actually nearer to 5 months)

Aside from the contradictory mixed messages do we know anything factual?

Last I heard it was hoped that he will return over the festive period (at best). Don’t think he’s even back in full training yet.

Yeah that's the same ambiguous second hand rumours that I heard.
Nothing concrete and yet despite the initial reports of 3-4 months (over 3 months ago) the last update/twitter bollocks was that his recovery was ahead of schedule.

It’s a huge task to strengthen your leg and build muscles back up. He will be training but not with the team.

Yeah I'm not disputing the injury. I suffered the exact same injury in 2002, but I was an overweight amateur who had to go back to work on crutches within a few days of the operation and was still suffering discomfort six months later.

I was just querying the contradictory communication including Tolmie's tweet that the recovery was ahead of schedule.
