Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

It's clear the club needs a rebuild and 4 or 5 players are coming to the end of their City careers and 2 or 3 players are not good enough, Now does the new one year extension for Pep mean he will fully rebuild in the summer or allow the new director of football to bring in his option for a new manager,

Looking at the clause for a rolling one-year extension, it will mean if a big international job comes up he can talk to them, I think we all know the couple of big international teams Pep would leave for and would love with full honours

No he hasn’t mate.

He’ll only have an option to stay on if he’s doing well enough to deserve further extensions.
And we know enough about him now that he will always do well enough to get further extensions. That's the point. The truth is that there are no concievable circumstances where Pep is released by City, so the "one year option" is just PR to head off some of the "This is his last year" problems we could have next season.

Even if that's true, I wouldn't attach a huge amount of importance to it. If we're found guilty of any of the charges and the punishment is severe, we'll appeal it so any potential relegation/expulsion will be put on hold pending the outcome of that appeal
In a perverted way I would love to watch Pep working in League One with a team of free transfers. I bet he would secretly enjoy it too and success would shut up all those "can only manage with a massive budget" gimps.

Jim Shyte tomorrow:

"Pep Guardiola agrees to stay for for one more year as coach of Manchester City for one more year or until they are found guilty of the 115 premier league charges relegating them to the National league..."
ha ha spot on
but pep and city's get out is this has been a witch hunt along

This makes me think

a) he has met the new fella and likes the cut of his jib.
b) the start of the season will have pissed him off and he want to smash the league and do 5 in a row plus a 2nd chumps league.
c) He has a dream to guide us to multiple back to back promotions from the confrence to the prem and then laugh at all those saying he can only.win at the top table.

There is a poll on the BBC asking if Pep is the greatest PL manager of all time.

You know what to do.
Waste of time. It's a public opinion poll (therefore subjective) and, as we're about as popular as a fart in a lift with fans of other teams, we all know how that poll will turn out.
