Does anyone think it wasn’t Txiki’s decision? He either wasn’t getting the money from Khaldoon and Soriano, Txiki (and Pep ) wanted to bring in World class players, and he saw the writing on the wall. Or Khalddon and Soriano saw too many poor buys and £100mill’s wasted on disappointing players over the last 2 seasons, and decided Txiki needed changing, hence beginning in Viana.
It was always Txikis intention to retire at about 60. So there’s no conspiracy or plot from either side. We need to just accept he’s going & welcome his replacement - who the club have monitored & selected for good reasons.Does anyone think it wasn’t Txiki’s decision? Doesn't matter a jot if the players we were meant to be interested in didn't want to join in the first place or not worth the fee the selling club is valuing their player at. Throwing money doesn't fix the issue either (the rags being prime example). We do need renforcements but it is identifying the right player is the issue.

I don't see how Txiki is the problem. He works as part of a group, the purse strings seem to have been tightened and maybe everyone at the top took their eye off it but I don't see it.Does anyone think it wasn’t Txiki’s decision? Fully fit, we still have a very good squad.
I just don't see a world where Txiki has been the reason we haven't signed X, Y or Z.

TBF, I didn’t say he was the problem.
City wasted money on Phillips. Nunes hasn’t been a good buy. That’s £100mill.
As you say, the group made those transfer decisions, not just Txiki. But Txiki is in charge of the group.

I agree that the decline in the quality of our recruitment has been pretty bizarre.Fair enough.
But Txiki’s last two seasons have been poor. Prior to that, he was signing world class players.
Hopefully, Txiki will enjoy his retirement back in Spain. He leaves City with my best wishes and a thank you.
Nunes is nothing like good enough, Doku looks plain average, Savio was basically already at the club and bringing back Gundo felt desperate even at the time.
Gvardiol will prove to be a great signing and Kova is good value for money, but there's been more misses than hits recently.

Grealish 100m, Nunes 50m and Phillips 40m, 190m and we have seen little.
And let's not forget what these guys are pulling in every week, that's a lot of cash for little return.
If you put all 3 on the market tonight, what would we get back? 70-80m tops for me and that would be some great deal in our favour.
