Dax IS the right! He's not an outlier, mate. There are way, way, way more Daxes than there are "persuadable" Trump supporters. As he continues to suggest.
How likely was BATP to vote conservative in 2022? When Biden was in office? And did he consider himself a persuadable voter for 2024?

We all ( at least most of us) have ideological views we hold. And who we support or can support is often limited by that.

So to that effect, you are right, I'm not a persuadable voter. But that's equally true of most of you here. So in that way, we are the same.

The persuadable people are mostly independents. And those people vote mostly on curbing excesses. Economy looks poor, and they'll switch. Regardless of who's in office. Crime is high, they'll switch. Regardless of who's in office.

You don't need to persuade any Conservative, just like they can't persuade you either.

And I thought Don Jr. was the dumbest Trump motherfucker...

Aside from the naked irony of someone railing against drugs coming in to the country, whose first line has just kicked in, the tone and content of what he’s saying crystallises much that is wrong about his father and those around him.

Nasty, ungracious, unfriendly, suspicious. Dishonest people always think everyone else is ripping them off. They think this, because it’s what they do to others, and assume everyone thinks and acts along the same lines.

Let’s not forget this is the richest country in the world here, and yet rather than appreciate that, and be grateful for it, many Americans only seem to want to complain that the rest of the world is taking advantage of them.

It’s ugly, malign and sadly, crystallises why humanity is fucked. Whatever people have, it isn’t enough.

Over 50% of Americans read at 6th Grade level (10-11 year old) or less. Surely this brain worm addled lunatic isn't advocating giving kids heroin?

That's a scary statistic. Reading, particularly fiction, has benefits that bleed into all sorts of aspects of life, not just various aspects of cognition but things like empathy development too.

Don't know how that percentage stacks up historically but if a nations literacy levels are declining its pretty disturbing stuff entirely in line with the seeming.trajectory of the US.

If you think National level politics is batshit in the USA wait until you get into the weeds of State politics.

If the fruit loops take over everything at local level too them it's hard to see a way back to any form of sanity. It's always struck me that it's easier for headbangers who have a good ground game to take over local stuff in the US than it is in the UK. Not to suggest our own local politics can't get a bit bizarre but it sounds worse there based on some of the stories old US colleagues used to tell me.

She lost thankfully, as did Kari Lake in AZ and that porn-obsessed helmet running for Governor in NC. However, this gives them a wide range of possible opportunities: they could be appointed to mid-level government positions and/or write books and/or become regulars on Fox et al. One positive from this election is that Trump hangers-on didn’t necessarily convince voters who otherwise voted for him. I’d suggest part of this ticket-splitting dynamic is a rejection of “Trump light” (I.e. those who’d have no platform whatsoever were it not for Trump) and is also an attempted alleviation of guilt of voting for Trump. Dax would have of course wholeheartedly voted for any of the three of these.

North Carolina Republicans took a beating at the State level, but as they wrap up their legislative tenure, they are desperately trying to change the rules to make it easier for them to screw around with future elections.

Also, just prior to the election, they changed voter rules to make it harder for some people to vote, meaning those people had to submit provisional ballots. They are now looking to have those 60,000 provisional ballots thrown out in a recount where one of their candidates lost by just 700 votes.

This would suggest the department of education is a failure, no?

Foggy, you voted for Bill Clinton and Joe Biden. Spare me the morality nonsense. It's tiring.

Pray tell, did Kari Lake do say something racist or sexist? Did she falsify records to cover up sleeping with a gigolo?

I'm trying to understand what exactly is the reason you think I shouldn't have voted for her if I was in Arizona?

You wouldn't vote for her because you disagree with her. Good for you. But why should I not?
