Away fans / tourists in home sections

Can’t think of anything worse. Having to sit surrounded by bin dipping tramps whilst their team dry bums us
I sat opposite Ian Rush a couple of times at Anfield as a friend loaned me his season card, when I hadn't got enough points for our away tickets. It's easy, none of them make a sound anyway. It's as dead as a dodo. :-)

There have been thousands of empty seats at every CL game this season, so whatever you think the club are doing to make us ‘box office’ is failing badly.

If you think dishing out hundreds of freebies to Utd supporting kids to boost a poor attendance was a good idea then fair play. It’s complete madness in my book.

Hundreds of Feyenoord fans in the home end is nothing to do with us being ‘box office’. It’s criminal neglect of security by the club both to supporters and the stewards faced with dealing with it once they are in the home end.

The people running the club don’t care about us. They haven’t engaged for years and have seemed intent on alienating all legacy supporters. If they had engaged, they might see the stadium full for every game like it should be after the team success we have enjoyed for years.

Who on earth do they think will fill the extra 8000 seats ?
How about the club let you buy a 5 match package?
If we have 5 homes game, £15.00 per ticket = £75.00 one off payment and that seat is yours for all 5 games
£10.00 for kids/seniors.

Additional games up to a the quarter final you can keep the same seat at the same price?
Ticket increase for a semi-final i can understand

Just a thought otherwise were gonna have 9,000 more empty seats on top

Apart from giving away free chips, i’m out of idea’s ;-)

From a commercial perspective it is better to have the stadium only 90% full at high prices rather than full but with prices 20% lower for instance.

Not related to all games but as in cup ones, we all knew there'd be loads of Dutch coming over...just shove them all in SS3. That'd keep them mainly together, it's not as though we were going to sell out.
That partly happened for the 2nd half, when the biggest unofficial group of Feyenord fans (in the East Stand) were moved to SSL3.

I've always signed up for every cup scheme but I this year will be my last in the CL.
It just feels like the number of obstacles grows yearly.
It's never been straightforward for midweek games but the extension of the residents parking zone has ruled out driving & parking within (reasonable) parking distance.
Last year I started driving & parking up at Ashton & getting the tram in, which usually worked OK but this season there seems to be much bigger delays between post match Ashton bound trams.
The additional 23k attending the Coop at the same time has just exacerbated the problem for both park & ride availability & tram congestion.
Arguably, these are all out of the clubs control but the ticket pricing definitely isn't.
What cost me £81 last season for group games will cost me £142.50 including an extra game I didn't ask for. That's a 75% increase & based on £52.50 for the Inter game, God knows what the pricing of the knock out stages will look like.
In isolation I know my decision will not be registered by the club, but when I looked around me on a CL night, there is probably only 10% of regular season card holders in attendance (I bet they will be there for the FA Cup) & that should be a concern especially when someone who has been an ever present on cup schemes decides to wrap it up.
It really make me sad that the club no longer makes any attempt to connect with us 'fans' but rather we are seen purely as cash cows - which is exactly what we used to ridicule United for.

Completely agree. I binned off champions league games this season. East stand often surrounded by away fans or groups of school kids. Too expensive and I wasn't enjoying it. Just got my season ticket now.

I don’t disagree with any of the points being made but if we all binned off the Champs League, who would be there to support the team.

I think the excessive pricing for the Inter game is doing lasting damage

Replying to the first point, believe me, this is not a decision taken lightly but everyone has a limit. As I explained, every season there is another obstruction added. The only things that don't seem to change are my salary & my alarm going off at 6am.

I agree mate. There’s loads of factors Making attendance at midweek games more difficult. Especially for Blues who travel a fair distance:

Tourists, day trippers, football fans, new City fans with loads of money, and more school kids.

The atmosphere at the Etihad will be rocking with high pitch Children's voices shouting.... " "Come on City!"

If it’s just those groups they will pick their matches and only be available in large numbers for Real Madrid at home etc

It’s hard to give away free tickets for these CL Group stages

Never....NeveR....NEVER !!

SS3/2 & most of 1 should be all City.

A traditional home end for 8000 blues, not for any chickenshit cloggies

Away fans should be down in the shit, wet seats 110/111/113....shit view & shit sound acoustics.

City fans first, second & third.... but never last.

Praps an overflow/safety section of (say) 300 seats shouldve been provided last night where Dutchies could've been relocated.

The academy stadium would've about right !!

If the club priced these low grade games sensibly and put City fans first the stadium would sell out and these sort of issues would' nt arise.

Prevention is better than cure !!

I'm fully on with your campaign fella, I was thinking as a one off for safety reasons as the club in general can't to trusted to police their own ticket T & C's.

In the short term it is but when there's a drop off on the pitch and 90% are no longer paying the high prices then there will be issues in the medium term.

What's really imperative for the clubs is that they increase (or at least maintain) the value of the TV deals and if grounds are clearly not full then the TV "product" is a lot less compelling.

Exactly this, it’s short-termism. Ticketing policies being designed by people who don’t give a damn about the club and know they’ll be off somewhere else soon enough anyway.

I doubt the likes of Soriano is the slightest bit worried about what might happen in the future. The current revenue figures are the only ones he is interested in. If we hit a prolonged slump in performance and then obviously attendances he will have moved on anyway.

Fair do's bbtm.

FWIW .....I've met with the club on this issue and presented a multi faceted, pick and mix proposal.

They were very accomadating and accept many of the principles, practicalities and objectives.

They have committed to put together a small group of 'managers' starting with a "clean sheet of paper" to build each element of the proposal into a coherent, stress tested case to then informally discuss with other stakeholders including the GMP, licencing authority and PL.

If everything passes muster at that stage,it will 'go up' for recomendation.

The reason for 'flying' it on here is to get it in peoples conciousness and on the agenda.

As far as i know 1894 have'nt picked up the baton yet. It appears as if they are fighting their own battle re the NS.

IMO, I think the SS, as a dedicated home end with 8000 established core fans under the roof, is as important as the expanded NS for building an intense atmosphere.

Two packed City ends must be better than 3 or 4 half arsed sections spread round the stadium....CB & ES are also likely to become more involved if the ends are rocking.

As the actress said to the Bishop....keep pushing !!
