Liverpool (A) PL - Post Game

Every time our midfielders took the ball and passed it back to our defence, the Liverpool midfielder left a little something on each player. Never enough for a booking but always snapping. Whenever the situations were reversed, we barely registered our presence. As well as the requisite technical ability, we desperately need midfielders with some aggression and physicality.

I agree but we aren't going to sign anyone of note until the summer. At least there are small signs of the old mentality.

We might. It depends on who might be available. If we’re to achieve anything decent this season, we need a right back in January.

The second half was much better than I expected and we did see some old City coming back.

We just need to add creativity and runs in behind.

Liverpool are very good in defence though to be fair to them.

Being realistic the first 20 minutes was an onslaught, That has happened us numerous times at Anfield and we tried ride the storm.

Funnily enough we were very much in the game at 1-0 in the second half and we had control somewhat, The game plan was coming together as in stay in the game and bring on the big guns and have a go, That was until are usual Anfield brainfart at the back and that was game over.

There's positives to be taken today and obviously negatives, We need to find a solution at right back whether that's Akanji or someone else, Kyle Walker clearly isn't the answer, Rico really struggled today in midfield against an energetic Liverpool team. The bright spark was obviously Doku, Dias being back for us, Ortega done really well today and Bernie being a shithouse.

Onwards and Upwads.

Consolidate and get top four for me , go deep in the domestics, we just aren’t winning the league this year , and totally acceptable after the monumental effort for the past four seasons. Relax , get behind the team and manager , now is not the time to go all “trafford” .

Sorry but Lewis isn't up to it. He cannot find any space ,he just follows his nearest player around. To many older pros in the media going on every week but not doing it on the pitch. We totally fucked up after the C L win. That's when we get new blood. Nunes what does he actually do.

Let’s face it Liverpool should have won that game 4/5 nil. The players tried hard after a woeful first 25 mins but that was about it.

Weird thing is I’m actually not too disappointed. We were shit, but actually showed some fight at least. Liverpool played really well and fully deserved it.

Because it isn’t. Liverpool have just gone 11 points clear and beat their main rivals on the back of facing Real Madrid in midweek. Delusional to suggest some how it’s a moral victory.

It's not a moral victory but it could have been worse and there are semblances of positives to take from the way we didn't completely capitulate second half.
