In which case our fans should show him a bit of respect instead of going off on a xenophobic anti-tourist rant. Last season I sat right next to the family of Julian Alvarez at Fulham. They didnt look like old-school City fans either but they were lovely people.

Posted this on another thread but very relevant to this one as relates closely to the proposed changes mentioned that will change it to not allowing any other tfr of ticket other than sale back to the club.

Football is following what has happened in the gig ticket market :

Football is heading the way of the live music business. Made me laugh that surge pricing became a hot topic when Oasis used it - when it had been around for ages and used by multiple elite artists.

The reason Ticketmaster sell gig tickets for anything up to £500 these days is that they realised the punters were selling tickets on Viagogo for that amount ( with punters getting the profit ).

Ticketmaster thought fuck that, we will have a piece of that. Gig tickets doubled in price - fake VIP or premier elements allowed them to make up a figure up to £500. You can also only sell them back via Ticketmaster.

Even surge pricing where they price will increase £200+ whilst you are in the queue.

I recall reading an interview with the CEO of Livenation (who own Ticketmaster) where they changed perception of a simple gig ticket into a one off experience which allowed them to inflate the fees ( to over $1000 in the US for some gigs ).

I used to go a music gig every week - would be impossible to afford that now.

How long till football catches up ?

one thing that is crystal clear is clarity regarding tickets is becoming more and more vital. That’s what should be being pushed.

Longer we go without clarity longer these issues and rumours will go on. It’s definitely getting harder to attain away tickets more and more of those I go with are gradually being replaced by corporate and sponsors.

Do you know why the club don't do the ticket exchange system for cup games as well? I'm on the cup schemes but sometimes can't attend so my seat is empty.

The reason is that they don't want people going on cup schemes then just using the scheme to get tickets for more important games like semi-finals or finals, and passing on those for less important cup games.

I get that but people will still do it. I stay on the cup schemes but I can't always make the game for various reasons. I'll take the financial hit but I'd rather somebody else could use my seat.

I signed up for all cup schemes when I renewed my season ticket. It wasn't to get to the semi finals/finals though. I know that I physically cannot make these. It was so that I could go to the matches played at the Etihad. Unfortunately it hasn't worked out for me as my health has deteriorated. But I am not withdrawing from the cup schemes as I am never sure how I will feel/be on the days.
With my season card I can transfer to trusted fans or sell it back to the club. I've only needed to sell back once so far and it sold within 45 minutes of me telling the club.
However with the cup schemes like others I am carrying the loss as I can't do anything with it. So my seat could be empty. C'est la vie. :-) :-)

Lumping everyone in with the oh they only buy to get to the semi and the finals is not conducive @Prestwich_Blue !! Remember there are different reasons for registering.

By the way I think you did a great job. I know from things I've done over the years that there are many thankless roles we play and get insulted for. :-) Just ride the storm laddie, ride the storm. :-) :-) (We've got your back.)
