I'm not sure he's quite the level for us but how about Ademola Lookman? Versatile and scores goals. Issue is how well Atalanta are doing to get him in January, similar to Ederson.

There’s a lot of talk in the media about Kerkez from Bournemouth but I’m not seeing our name being mentioned. He looks a very tidy player to me and he’s young and not crazy money.

I’m ready for pelters but I’m an admirer of Dalot from that lot. I see his name being mentioned in the BBC Gossip column this morning with RM apparently interested. We need a right back as a matter of urgency. He certainly has premier league experience.

What about Eric Dier on a free as cover for CB and DM. Only 30, homegrown (I think he counts?) and can cover two positions in a big squad. Can take free kicks as well.

He was in the same AZ side as Reijnders. Thought he struggled a little with stamina in his first Bournemouth season (only finished 11 League games) but has already finished 9 this year and impressed against us. Signing a left-back, though, I mean that’s the stuff of myths and legends…
