Players who might improve us

While i quite like Szoboszlai, i don't think Liverpool would sell him to us
We should try. He’s the perfect all action midfielder. I’ve loved him since he was at Salzburg. I never thought he’d have such an engine practically runs more and works harder than prime Bernardo. We need legs just imagine him and Elliot Anderson.

What we do need to start doing is buying players who have proved it in the prem for a long period of time like Arsenal have done with Rice and Eze, Liverpool do it... We SHOULD have bought Bowen for example..instead we buy second rate lightweight attacking midfielders.... Really shit recruitment and planning...weak as fk

I'm not sure Isak or Kerkez are the best examples to use. Good examples that changing teams even within the PL isn't always seamless. This is what we did with Phillips, Bony, Rodwell for every Eze there's a Mount.

Never going to happen.

What about Saliba?
What about Gabriel
What about Calafiori?
What about Timber?
What about Zubimendi?
What about Merino?

You also have other players like Mosquera that have hit the ground running.

They haven't just bought from the Premier league have they?

The most impressive part of the Arsenal side is their defence and central midfield. Rice is the only Premier league recruit from that group of players if you don't include back up defenders.

It's not about going out and buying just prem proven, it's about doing our due diligence and buying the right type of players.

I don't think Bowen is suited to our team either.

I also think we still have to give the new signings time too. Remember, it took Caicedo a year to settle in at Chelsea. It took Calafiori a year to settle in at Arsenal. It also took Szoboszlai a good year to find his best form. It takes time.

We need that all action midfielder: a Rice/Szoboszlai type. Someone with super athleticism and off-the ball play. Maybe that’s Anderson not sure, do think Gibbs-White could have probably played in that pivot off-ball. Baleba another shout but his performances this season haven’t been good enough.

No Bowen isn’t suited to our team because the players that work at West Ham don’t work at City. We faced low blocks and need more small-space players rather than ones that operate in big-spaces and thrive on transition. How often do you see our attackers with lots of space to attack. Very rare.

Agree with you. This is why I think I'd rather see an Iliman Ndiaye type of player at City than an Antoine Semenyo and Jarrod Bowen type of winger.

His game is built to operate in tight areas.

Yeah I do think Ndiaye could work well, he’s brilliant in those sorts of areas. That’s why Mahrez worked at City too. Another difficult one to pull off without a release clause though don’t see there being many wingers that are attainable in January better than Semenyo.

Him and the lad at Bournemouth and it improves us straight away solid in the middle and a goal threat/assists from the wing ..
Basically an all action midielder, reliable RB and a winger that can provide G+A consistently

Read, Anderson, Ndiaye for example. Have seen Anderson tentatively compared to Rice but that sort of profile is what we need imo.

Reminds me of Gareth Barry slightly, him and Nico in the middle making it alot
more solid and not as easy to play through..Only problem is there’ll be a host of clubs sniffing after both ..

I really don’t see how we stay in this title race being as poor off-ball as we are now. The best team on-the ball no doubt still as we always are but moment we lose it we are so vulnerable.

Gonzalez and Rodri shielding the back-line would work but we need someone else. Don’t think Pep would trust O’Reilly in midfield for the same reasons as Nunes. Foden, Cherki, Bernardo just don’t have that physicality that Gundogan had for that role.
