A s**t away end full of tourists

Unless football fans from every club come together to demand things there is a lot of truth to this, we are having it stolen from right under our noses.

I heard a bit of talkshite today and Simon Jordan said he'd spoken to a couple of owners very recently about the removal of concession tickets by certain clubs.

Jim White moved the chat on to season ticket holders missing a game, saying it's not really a problem as it's their seat.

And the twat Jordan responds "No, it's a hotdog. It's a programme. It's a beer. It's a bag of merchandise from the souvenir shop"

I think this is pretty obscene really as the mentality appears to be that for fans who go along to support their teams the clubs are looking to squeeze every penny out of them.

And without the fans attending the clubs wouldn't have these gigantic TV deals - it's just pure unadulterated greed.

Been a City fan for nigh on my whole life as I remember it, my dad took us to City games before I remembered the game. The good, the bad, the ugly, it’s all part of it.

Of course, I want our club to stay as close to home as possible but with what our owners have done, it’s only right that others get the bug.

The question is, why are we moaning when we have people enhancing our club around the globe?

Get the bug?

8 Barcelona fans wearing Barcelona shirts in the City away end at Liverpool ‘enhancing the club’, do me a fucking favour!

To Jordan it was another Rolex watch when he part owned Palace.

Can’t understand what’s wrong with tourists, isn’t that what happens when you become successful as a club?

And, won’t those tourists fill those extra seats in the extension, spending loads in the club shop, advertising our club across the globe?

Or do we want our club to stay pure Mancunian, forgetting about the global PL economy?
As above have you not read any previous pages? I presume you’re alright with this and our support being squeezed out of attending away games in favour of people who don’t support us.

The club purposely working with ticket agency sites and putting tickets at extortionate prices. Are you ok with that as well?

He’s obviously oblivious to video evidence.

The Future’s Barcelona blue and red in the City away end,

I have complete respect and admiration for people who still have the energy to put the miles in, pay the money and attempt to hold the club to account. But it's becoming easier and easier to accept the message the club is sending to its core support through what it does and what it doesn't do. That message is clearly "fuck off - we don't want you".

Supporting City is a parasocial relationship taken to an extreme in that it isn't just one-sided, but the club are actively trying to push their supporters away. The people responsible will be long gone when the time comes to pick up the pieces.

Surely they are enhancing Barcelona not Manchester City FC

Here’s what the problem is. We don’t want 8 Barcelona tourists and their money in the 8 City away end seats at Liverpool. We want 8 City fans in those 8 away end seats at Liverpool.
The sheer arrogance to go to a City v Liverpool game in Barca tops beggars belief. Zero awareness that they are taking tickets from real (not Madrid) fans who will rightly be fuming at the disrespect

Barcelona fans are used to tourists they have more than enough in their own stadium

Wasn’t the junior Blues the vision of Big Mal?

When my older kids were born, it was a one off £20 for a ‘lifetime’ membership. 0-16 years.

Now it’s £20 a year, just for the privilege of buying them tickets.

( I do understand that £20 then was a lot more than £20 now. )

And just to be fair, junior season tickets are still very good value. Think mine are about £7 a game.

Yeah let's sell all away tickets against our rivals to tourists. They can all sit there wearing the shirt of the club they really support without making any noise and getting behind the team. As long as they pay a premium, sounds like a plan.

Let's flood ticket exchanges with tickets in the home or away end whenever we play a big game.

As long as those tickets don't go to lifelong blues who are priced out, but some cunts, whoever they support at inflated prices, and someone makes a few quid who cares right?

Great post.

And FWIW, the people responsible will be gone within a year if we get seriously fucked by the 115 case.

Maybe there's a subtle difference between a tourist wearing a half and half scarf and (half heartedly) supporting City and eight smug twats openly laughing at city fans whilst wearing the shirts of a club that's been part of our hateful enemies trying to destroy us for years. Both are wrong by the way but one is far more wrong
But City as a club have a bucketful of links to the club whose shirt these eight smug twats were wearing. I doubt it was eight random smug twats from Catalonia.

I'm more embarrassed about grown men wearing replica football tops, never got that myself, leave it to the kids
