PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Good joke tbh, but anyone with a vested interest should stay away from those topics, professionalism and decorum dictate it.

Also time and place. If he made the joke to his mates in the pub and it was leaked? No issue at all. Doing it in a press conference going around the world in a position of authority? Ill advised.

It’s not worth prosecution or anger or anything, but he shouldn’t be making those kinds of jokes in my opinion.

You make some superb and valid points but a 300m investment in infrastructure is it any different from investing in players the actual commodity of a football club?

If we don't spend this January and make a serious statement then I am genuinely worried about this case and the implications.
The two are completely different things. The 300m investment will more than pay for itself, regardless. Particularly the hotel, f&b and office space.

Players signed in January might not, plus they and their may need convincing. But as you say, needs do must.

I’d love it if he said that. There wouldn’t be much giggling going on though just gasps of shock!

Pep embargoed video nearly 20 mins long being amicable nice and accommodating media next day in papers writing negative shite about us and pep! Someone asked about slott saying 115 the rebuff of that and saying about being hacked and we could of got certain players if Liverpool didn't hack our club would got the headlines but we know this media would of spun it another way..

I disagree, I think the joke itself was shit.

Do you believe the club would have gone ahead with the expansion IF they thought there was a good chance of been found guilty?

If we were to be found guilty on the major charges I could not see our ownership model surviving and hence they would not be throwing 300m plus on the fire.

The reports in the last few days saying Pep was the one that called the lack of activity last summer and he has made an error in waiting to refresh the team maybe was more telling.

January is difficult to bring in top players but if any club is capable of doing so it's us.

I would be going to Bayer and making an offer for Wirtz than both club and player could not refuse.

Honestly mate, I do.

I explained why before some time ago, will try find it in response to the above rather than repeating it, as my view on that has not changed.

I understand your view but we lose this case on the major parts we are royaly *ucked, they will be queing up to sue us.

I am certain 99.9% we are innocent but I do think the club have been reluctant to hit the transfer market because of the PR backlash until we are cleared.

That now has changed because of the slump we are in, I would expect a show of power and ruthlessness in the next two windows.

Surely our response should be shown by fans, players and management turning our season.
Previous provocation have stimulated us to football success, why not this?

We know the charges themself are a means to an end so much so we are spending millions on legal costs so perhaps a joke could be the stimulus we need to return to City form rather than fight their fight with joke for joke.
I know which response I would prefer.

100%

That stadium should be bouncing tonight and the players would feed off it.

One positive of the last month is it will toughen up a lot of people at the club and motivate even more and anyone not up for the fight, goodbye!
