PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Chessman has no inside track at City. Laughable.

And anyway, City themselves can have no inside track on any punishment this far away from the case completion.

The only way anyone at City could know of a specific point deduction would be if they & the Prem has agreed a settlement and called the case off.

We have a winner!!
Not necessarily. Playing devil’s advocate, City could have had 5 thrown out over a ten year period = 50.

I don’t believe any of it though. I just think Khaldoon was being truthful when he said he would have something to say to us all after the case. I think we will win all the main points.

it’s defo info worthy of posting. Whilst it doesn’t add up - it’s news from a source that if it was good news everybody would be popping champagnes corks.

Some on here can’t deal with anything that might be bad news so try to discredit the posts.
It's obviously lies, as no decision has been made on punishment, doesn't take much time work that out. Personally I wouldn't of given it a second thought, let alone mention it.

Must admit I did think back in the day that he bet everything on an educated guess with his CAS post.

I recall he was a bit of a joke figure at that time. Sacked by the BBC yet bizarrely still turning up at City pressers for Radio Tameside or some Indian digital channel or something.

Felt like his CAS was a last throw of the dice for some kind of credibility amongst blues’s.
Depends when he tweeted it I suppose. The info I got at the time - not from Cheesy - suggested the staff were told sometime on the Friday afternoon before the Monday morning announcement. If he tweeted it around that time on the same day then it’s a fair bet that he was told by someone at the club. If he tweeted it a day or two before that then perhaps he’d taken a punt.

I would be amazed if any staff below boardroom level have been told anything.
A family member of mine works in the commercial / marketing dept of the club

I try not to be a pain in the arse and ask too many questions.. but I asked recently if there was any updates on this and I was told absolutely none at all

They were told when it was first announced that there was nothing to worry about and its business as usual and nothing has changed since

Clearly the 115 narrative was a PR stunt, but references to 'charges' or 'prosecution' or whatever are simply a convenient shorthand for referring to what's happening here. That involves a body instituting disciplinary proceedings against a member as a result of the latter's alleged large-scale breaches of the body's rules. It's asking a tribunal to confirm the fact of the breaches and impose a suitable punishment where the breaches are upheld.

The PL leadership are interested in causing as much damage to City as they possibly can, including ideally (from their point of view) by achieving an outcome that finishes the club once and for all as a major player in the English game. Egged on by the most powerful member clubs, who hold a disproportionate sway in these matters, they've conducted a fishing expedition of an investigation and seem to have approached the 'charging' aspect in the spirit of throwing as much shit as possible, which will not only damage the club's reputation but might also - you never know - see some of it stick and justify strict sanctions.

Based on what's in the public domain, we may not think they have an especially strong prospect of success. However, people with much greater knowledge than I say there's never a completely sure thing in litigation. And the pedigree (and cost) of the legal representation they've engaged and the length of the hearing both suggest that they're giving it as good a go as they can. I think the PL's conduct is invidious, but there you go.

That’s been my assumption from the start. That their intention is to ruin us with a penalty there’s no coming back from. What concerns me is that the smear campaign to date has been so utterly comprehensive, that we haven’t got a friend in the world, and if a verdict against us is reached based on evidence that falls manifestly short of the fabled ‘high bar’, no-one will give a shite. And what has always needled me further is that the PL got to pick the man who picks the panel. I don’t imagine they fished a name out of a hat when doing so. Not casting aspersions on Rosen by the way, but their choice will have come after a whole lot of due diligence.
I hope we prepared for a filthy fight

As long as it doesn't end up like this then it's all good.

Ihope.
