Pep is stubborn. Very stubborn. It’s a strength in many ways but I think he is fixated with making Lewis into Lahm #2. Sadly Lewis isn’t of that level and likely never will be. His weaknesses are too easily exposed.

I think Pep prefers malleable kids who don’t answer back. Foden was such and I suspect Rico’s a nice, unassuming boy.Fine but that’s not what you said you said Pep didn’t want him
Wright is actually much better player for the situation we are in. Energy and strength.Lewis should be proud of his achievement of making the first team.
However every game is showing he is not for this level of football
As I keep saying to my friend as we leave the games, whatever the question is Rico Lewis is not the answer.
Wish other young players from the academy are given the minutes Pep gives him, McAtee Wright etc

He'a far from being the worst culprit over recent weeks. If anything he's guilty of trying to force things too much but that's because of a lack of creativity in other areas.

pep messed him up making the kid change positions all the time and having him play that false ten/roaming position lol
im confident he could do a great job on a midfield duo where he is only basically asked to hold his position and not try to get between lines up the pitch and stuff

For me he needs to concentrate on becoming a decent fullback - he's not good enough to be a regular midfielder in a top 4 side. Compare the movement and forward passing from the midfield last night - something that has been missing for the last few weeks - Rico has always not been that creative and is hardly a goal threat - for example Grealish last night not only worked well under pressure, he linked well with Kev and Doku to create a lot of opportunities. he will be jerked around between rb and defensive mid, i just think pep needs to simplify his instructions not only to rico but gvardiol as well, you cant expect them to do so much up the pitch and be able to get back sprinting when they are not capable of that. Also, he never asked walker to do such things, thats been our main issue this season, tactics and strategy, not individual performances imo. Although thats for another thread

He has played as an inverted RB who pushes up in the right half space as an 8/10.

He only turned 20 a couple weeks ago. Idiots on here writing him off as not good enough. He’s 10x better than Zinchenko was at fullback.
He’s quite clearly got a lot of talent, he just needs time to mature.
All this experience he’s getting is amazing. He’s bound to be a very good player for us. He’s only playing so much out of necessity at the moment. We have nobody else.

He’s a baby & none of us know how good he’ll eventually turn out, but I’d wager that he’ll have a long & successful career, hopefully with us

A 20 yr old who plays for one of the worlds best clubs and also represents his country, yet some on here think he's crap, FFS.

Chelsea will probably pay £45m we'd all celebrate it as a good fee and then he'd be worth £100m within a year ;)
