PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

There is no way for the UK govt to intervene in the Premier league appointed independent tribunals deliberation here.
To infer this from the general Abu Dhabi investment in the UK is a misunderstanding & plays into the hands of conspiracy theorists aligned with our rivals.
The panel is independent, they can't be lobbied, paid off, leaned on. What leverage would the UK govt have over this panel? They may have preconceptions, biases etc but that's true in any case.

My guess is that the Premier League are still investigating Chelsea. More allegations have surfaced on top of what they've admitted to so perhaps that's being looked at as well.

You're right though - few seem to care that Chelsea, as things stand, are actually more guilty than City are, given that they've admitted to something and we've consistently maintained that we're innocent.
The Premier League DO have an open investigation on Chelsea. Not that we get to hear the MSM pushing for updates...

The UEFA fine was for offences between 2012-2019. The new owners disclosed that partial financial information had been submitted and so "guilt" admitted by Chelsea. Jose last won the Premier League with Chelsea in 2014/2015

And from slbsn:

He's never got over been snubbed by Barca in favour of Pep, he will take that to his grave, it hurt him and he blames Pep.

I agree with you but I also think it's deeper than this. Mourinho pioneered a lot of innovation in training and football style during his early career but it was denigrated by a lot of people. Pep has always been the darling of the tacticos who is celebrated for his influence in "playing the right way" and convincing whole generations of coaches into that ideal. 90% of coaches in the PL for example idolised Pep and adapted his methods. His impact on football as a whole is treated as monumental, almost like there's a pre and post Pep era in coaching.
Mourinho legitimately is a world class manager. His winning record is incredible and his innovation undervalued.
But he never recieved the credit and widespread acclaim that Pep did for similar successes. He's always been bitter towards Pep for numerous reasons but I've always felt this is the biggest one.

Pep, Klopp and Mourinho are the coaches that have defined the last generation in terms of tactics and Mou is seen unfairly as the red headed stepchildren in that triumvirate.

It would be the worst possible way to get rid of the charges, fairness and transparency should be the order of the day here not diplomatic shenanigans.
Agreed - The last thing we should want is to feed the narrative that we are guilty, but got off on a technicality because of political pressure

Arteta seems to be quickly gravitating from Pep light to full on Mourinho, so maybe there’s hope for the miserable one yet.

Mourinho is without question one of the great managers.

His time at Porto and Chelsea ( first) were incredible, he was charismatic, flamboyant and dare I say the nearest thing to Brian Clough I have seen. His players worshiped him and would literally die for him, his teams were exciting to watch.

But something changed, some say he has never got over the death of his father, or was it he started to believe his own hype?

Whatever it was it spoilt and destroyed him, he has become so anti football as a coach, hateful, spiteful etc.

Yet when he is not working as a coach and makes appearances as a pundit, that same flamboyant, charming character reappears with incredible knowledge of the game and he is box office and a pleasure to listen to.

Yeah, fairly! Ha. Chelsea were doing what we have been accused of way before CFG were even incorporated.
Mourinho is just a bitter, damaged individual who hates that his star has fallen so far he can only get work in the joke that is the Turkish league.

He is a psycopath and a sore loser. He shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Pep when it comes to major trophies won and style of football. Head to head, Pep left him in his dust. Dour football and a failure since he last won at Chelsea, sacked by every club he's been to because he is so toxic.
Makes comments like these for attention when he knows he is now irrelevant. Turkish league is now his level.
As mentioned before, he was bitter that Barcelona overlooked him for Pep when Pep became manager there.
