Elon Musk

It's interesting...
From all appearances, Musk seems not to care at all about money anymore.

For example, he bought Twitter and is hell-bent on turning it into a pro-MAGA platform, finances be damned.

And his open embrace of Trump is going to fucking kill Tesla sales:

Probably Musk will make a bunch of money when NASA suddenly starts awarding mega-contracts to SpaceX. But that's likely to be swamped by losses due to his Twitter acquisition and (likely) drop in Tesla sales.

As part of his role I bet he'll remove subsidies on Electric vehicles in the USA .... crippling other companies that don't have the economies of scale that Tesla have.

I don't think people take the political views of the owner into account when buying a new car. The Ford family were literal Nazis and they didn't do too badly.

Pre-war Germans pumped cash into VW and Hitler took the cash to make Kubelwagens not Beetles and nobody seemed to give a shit too

Not sure about that, I do think there’s quite a few that would be now put off getting a Tesla due to Musk.
I think most people will largely not care or they'll quickly forget within a few months because Trump is actually not THAT extreme. Some of the people who follow him perhaps are but they're a minority. If people want to shape their enitre lives by politics then that's just both boring and sad.

I think this time around we're going to see a much different US under Trump compared to the last time. Regardless of whether anybody agrees with him, the argument to continue with the same old was lost so the proof will be in the pudding.

There is room for some optimism and maybe they should be given a chance? The normally anti-Trump elite also seem to see an opportunity too.

I’m not sure Trump has much to do with it, some won’t buy a Tesla now purely because of Musk.

Either way though, I’m sure Bezos is licking his lips at a Trump presidency.

He tried to have a fair election thrown out.

He fomented an insurrection.

He’s a convicted felon.

But this is “not that extreme.”

But he was rewarded for these actions by the electorate with another four years as the most powerful man in the nation. So I guess you’re right.

I guess “extreme” would be if he’d succeeded in overturning a legitimate election via an insurrection and was convicted of mass murder.

Here’s the state of America right now — re: the CEO of UH who was murdered:

In one stark example, a Facebook post by UnitedHealth Group expressing sadness about UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s death received 62,000 reactions – 57,000 of them laughing emojis. UnitedHealth Group is the parent company of UnitedHealthcare, the division that Thompson ran.

That’s what discourse has disintegrated into. Laughing at murder.

Musk can say and do whatever he wants with little consequence — same with Trump.

They're laughing at the murder of a man who's CEO of a company that steals from you ... the clue is in what was written on the bullets .... which is also on the training plan of the company employees

USA Healthcare is a mess

Oh, I see. So healthcare being a “mess” and him “stealing from me” makes his murder funny.

Wonder how many of these laughers would do it in the face of his wife and kids.

Stupid amoral cowards.

The law failed to hold him to account so a vigilante stepped in. If you setup a company to have values of the wild west don't be surprised when you meet your end at the hands of a bandit.

The world will not miss that man.

America's gun problem becomes the perfect real life buffer against its problem with endemic corruption in the healthcare insurance industry.

America has lots of nazis (and did in the 30s & 40s too) so not sure that’s the best comparison.

You reckon most people in a country where black people couldn't use the same doors as white people were worried about someone being a white supremacist?

Tesla don’t have economies of scale. They’re a tiny car manufacturer. Even in the states they’re something like 10th in car sales. Worldwide they’re a minnow.

Removing EV subsidies in the USA would probably bankrupt Tesla by the end of Trumps next term.

His death has united the right and left in acknowledging the fuckkery of your healthcare system.

This is madness.

A man was shot in the back in cold blood.

As fucked up as our system is — and I could tell you a thing or two about UHC claims — this isn’t the answer.

There is no other human response.
