Fair to say the Derby is now huge. We’re in meltdown and simply trying the same old same old. What worked before ain’t working now and it is the same story every game. Opposition breakaway and score. We run about, panic and concede a second. Then pass sideways for 20 minutes with only one player in the box. Pep try something else ffs.

Its got to the point where we are far better off getting knocked out of both the champions league and the Fa cup, no point prolonging the misery. Less games and focus on finishing top 4.
Knowing our luck we will scrape through in 24th, adding two extra games before inevitably loosing.

I’ve seen some shite over the years especially when we dropped through the divisions but that was gradually. Never have I seen such a dramatic drop off like this. Something dramatically wrong but hoping that Pep can sort it.

Ok, here's my take. I think its the players and Pep.

At the offseason, we had the opportunities to exit Ederson and Walker. Gundogan was already gone. Bernardo was also looking to move but was convinced to stay. KDB starting to show cracks with his injuries. But we didn't make any of those moves. And its now costing us. We kept them because, I believe, it was for sentimental reasons. They were part of our Treble. But it appears that they have not hit the wall 6 months before the end of this season. All of these players need to be moved on. Sorrynotsorry. Said it.

Pep. Pep still believes that possession is the key. But teams have adapted to us. Especially if they get a goal on us. Juventus tonight showed that they will take all the lateral and wing passes in their zone that City can bring. Do it. Do it all game. Do it when you're down. Teams will not consider it a threat - especially when we don't inswing the ball. We also offer no counterattack. None. And because of that we are purely one dimensional. We had 64% possession in second half. What did that get us?

Finally, I think its a combination of player fatigue, injuries and, sorry to say this, but a seeming weariness of Pep's style of play. I think the players are done with it.

So we support the boys. We support the badge. But if we don't change tactics and personnel, we may not be top 10 boys.

They won’t need to. Sit in, don’t concede (unlikely as we go from side to side, backwards, side to side and backwards again) wait for us to roll it to one of them, play the ball into the half way line on one wing and then wait for 7 City players to run over there like an under 11’s team, play the ball to the other side, and bingo, they’ll have a 5 on 2.
Then when they’ve scored, we will play like we’re 5-0 up and just walk about with the ball until we fall for that counter attack stuff, yet again….

Might have to start at the back and rebuild from there. Sort defence out and draw other teams in rather than them sitting back and doing us on the counter every single game. Maybe utilize the pace of players like Doku and Savinio on the counter, and Halland too with another striker to help him out. Because this system currently isn't working we just get done on the counter with no benefit of goals outweighing the risk.

I thought our midfield up was playing well until the inevitable goal went in.

Walker was a fucking embarrassment on the first goal. And possibly the second. Lewis is a piece of piss to play against. I don’t get it. Pep’s moved far superior players on. He’s a bench player at best right now, and josko isn’t a wide defender.

The 3 of them together have destroyed our season.

We are fucked this year, there’s no instant fix for this. Need at least 2 full backs, DM and a dynamic creator in fast. That’s not easy Jan business.
