The sad thing is that over 90 minutes we didn't play that badly, it's just we are so easy to pick off on a counter it's unreal. The 2nd goal they got would be embarrassing on a Sunday morning - the defence was as wide as the pitch, no midfield, no one tracking back, no one in the middle. I don't expect Ederson to save much and he didn't let me down.
This team are not full of bad players - they just don't have a clue what to do. They've forgotten how to defend in 10 weeks. We had so little attacking threat, bar the Haaland chance, it's untrue. And yet our defence is appalling. Literally any attack, any pace and you've a pretty good chance of getting 2 or 3 solid chances with us. I am coming to the conclusion that there's no point playing Haaland at the minute as we play with 10 when he doesn't score. He was utterly anonymous tonight, again.
I am dreading the Derby as they have pace and play on the counter. Unless we sit deeper and play more than Gundogan in midfield then we will be beat, it's as simple as that and the only question is how many they will get.
Pep needs to have a cold bath tonight and shake it up. Unless he changes something, I genuinely can't see where our next win comes from.
And anyone who says he needs to go, like on the Match Day Forum, is a dick. This man had led us to some of the finest moments I've ever seen in football and he deserves every opportunity to turn it around. AND HE WILL.
