Congratulations and hopefully your daughter in law is better soon. We need to defend our NHS against all those bastards who want to take it from us. The real jewel in our country&s crown. My first Granddaughter was born yesterday. Hale and hearty.
The mother fared less well. Emergency c-section but the bleeding did not stop. Whisked off to intensive care, where they had a battle on their hands. Things looking better now but, in the words of the surgeon, we very nearly lost her.
Thank you NHS for fantastic care.
PS Soft as shit old man in tears!
Seconded.Best wishes and get well soon !
Women are usually quite used to that sort of chat with those procedures.Sorted out the wifes hysterectamy, sorting out my sisters hip as we speak.......great nurse and doctor especially in the consulting room. Nurse is giving it all small talk and pleasantries " How is work, are you busy, who are your customers, when are your busy times, etc etc" whilst at the same time the Dr is " bend your knees and lift your legs up so I can get a good view...." Maybe it's just me but I found that quite amusing in a Pythonesque sort of way.

In fact, it usually puts me on guard so a little counter productive ;-)
Hope all goes well and that the worst is now over xxI’ve just got back from having a bone marrow procedure. It was painful but what a lovely, gentle, caring Specialist nurse I had. Unfortunately due to my Osteoporosis they had to do what she called the wiggling the needle thingy around bit twice so two lots of anaesthetic!
It’s just beginning to wear off and it’s hurting but I’ve taken the painkillers and we’ll see how it goes.
Wednesday I’ve got a kidney scan. So it’s all go this week!
However you have to keep smiling because crying is tiring!! :-) ;-)

Wishing you all the very best EB xxWell this morning I will have another reason to thank our NHS. I’m going for a kidney scan. 1.5 to 2 pints of water to drink in the next hour! Then they pummel me about I guess. *lol* Can’t hurt any more than the bone marrow one so that’s ok.
To say I’m scared is an understatement. Not scared of the procedures but scared of what they might find. They’ve tried everything they can to find out what’s wrong with me.
So please keep your fingers crossed for me folks.
Don’t worry though, I’ll still keep smiling because I know that I couldn’t have had better treatment and help from the NHS, my family and friends and my BlueMooners who don’t even know me but send me the best.

Thanks @Ric for hosting this brilliant place. :-) :-)

Fucking hell. Glad you're OK, mate. Terrible drama to start the weekend off with, but glad to hear you got looked at and sorted out so quickly. They're a good bunch on that ward at SR and they'll look after you. Fingers crossed you're back on your feet and in full health soon.Woke up on Tuesday with the worst headache you could imagine. Phoned 111 who told me to head to A&E. CT Scan showed a brain haemorrhage so I was blue lighted to Salford Royal where the specialists are. They decided to remove the aneurism and they basically sawed my head open and removed it overnight. Didn’t help the headache but the good news (for me) is that I’m not dead. The bad news is I’m not making it to the match for the next few weeks. Now on the road to recovery but stuck in bed. Thanks NHS.
