Isaiah Dada-Mascoll

Plenty of time but rather than the time, I’m more worried about the impact mentally. Of course the physical aspect can’t be ignored as everything is just different. I mentioned above about Mbete. He’s one that was highly regarded too. Got a major injury and then Callum Doyle became part of that team that had Doyle, McAtee, Delap, Mebude, Borges and much more. Development got him has gone well since.

Sometimes, besides the great mentality, you need some luck. For Dada-Mascoll’s sake, I hope he comes back stronger.

Also, good to ‘see’ you around. Feels like it’s been ages since I’ve seen a post of yours.

So many sliding doors moments in youth football where the wrong move or an injury can result in a big talent being lost. Sometimes they are physically fine but not mentally mature enough to deal with being an elite footballer. Like Ravel Morrison at the rags or Braaf here.

Think I remember Mbete having a howler for the first team in one of his appearances which may have knocked his confidence a bit. Hopefully he can get back on track at a lower level like Tosin and THB, he reminded me a bit of Laporte in his style. Latibeaudiere was one it never worked out for due to injury aswell, think he even captained the England side with Phil, Sancho and Gomes that won the U19 World Cup.

I'm on here pretty often lately aswell mate! Must have just been in different threads lol

Latibeaudiere is playing regularly at Championship level, which is still pretty decent.

Rowan McDonald was one who probably suffered most from injuries, but has just spent 18 months playing regularly in Ireland so hopefully he’ll eventually move back to the UK (if he’s physically able to play at a higher level)

Hit the nail on the head.

Only thing one can do is hope it works out for the young lads and if not at City, that their education at City allows them to have a decent career.

Latibeaudiere even had a brief spell at Twente but that may have been on loan.

McDonald was one of the worst cases I’d seen re injuries. Glad he’s healthy enough to play any sort of football

Talent is only a small part of what it takes, a huge slice of luck and a s**t load of physical and mental resilience required.

To train or play 5 days a week is tough on the body and mind and to come back from long term injuries takes huge mental resilience as often their is lots of set backs on the road to recovery.

I believe he’s been back in training a while now so wouldn’t be surprised if he’s back on the bench in January at the latest

He was back in training at the end of September, but the fact he hasn’t even made the bench for the EDS yet suggests he’s had a setback somewhere

Such a shame, I would 100% prefer Dada-Mascoll over Wright or O’Reilly in the DM position. This season could have been his Rico breakout season, but injuries took that opportunity away from him

Has anyone got any information on this lad. Was one of our most talented prospects but seems to have had terrible luck with injuries.

He was back in training in January then picked up an ankle injury in a friendly. Presumably it was quite bad as he hasn’t been seen since

This is the player I had ahead of Nico O'Reilly as the most likely addition to the first-team in central midfield. It just shows that in addition to talent and hard work, a large degree of luck is required, and Dada-Mascoll has had little in recent times. Best wishes to him as he is still so young, and so gifted.

I’m pretty sure he’s been back training for a month or so but just easing him in slowly, I strongly suspect you will see him back for the start of next season

Any updates? This thread needed a bump.
I beleive he Has played in 2 closed door friendlies for EDS pre season against Sheff and Rochdale so It looks like he’s on the road back now. Needs a bit of luck now and carefully manageing

Games against Buxton and Chorley upcoming he should be involved

There’s a friendly tomorrow for the EDS against Lommel so hopefully Dada-Mascoll will be involved
