United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I watched the women's team today. This passing back or square when it's easier to pass forward is endemic throughout the club with exactly the same result.i understand the "patience" thing and moving the other team around until they tire but how long before you realise that either you don't have the players to execute it properly or other teams have learned how to counter it with ease. Something has to change fundamentally.
The PL have had almost a decade of pep ball ….books have been written, analyses cut, one, two, three different ways, positional play copied, keeper use adopted…..

It’s over, too obvious now, teams know how to counter the tactics

Liverpool and Arsenal have missed out on Champions League and the sky didn’t fall in.

We’ve been blessed lately but it takes planning

What makes a team are brilliant scouts and a brilliant manager.

A rebuild is needed with a 3/4 good ( not necessarily megastars) signings and a better way of getting our youngsters into the team.
our ability to let all our decent back room staff just drift away ids embarrassing how did we let wilcox fk off to 'them' when hey were in no better position than us? ...what did we do so badly during negotiations / conversations ...we have the worse sales team in history ..you've got to keep selling the dream to good staff..were awful at that - now its all coming home!

If you announce that a manager is leaving in half a season's time he instantly becomes a lame duck, just like Manual Pellegrini did. If that decision happens it has to happen immediately.

The club needs to back Pep in January with 2 minimum world class targetted starters. I also feel maybe a new number 2 that challenges Pep a bit with some new ideas.

If we keep doing the same thing over and over, then we could be bottom half this season.

For some on here, anything less than 5 titles in a row is a disgrace.

Oh give over. We've just lost a derby, at home, against a weak as fuck United team when we were winning in the 87th minute. We have 1 win in 12. It isn't about 5 in a row, it's about our amazing players & amazing manager not performing way below their ability. It's a dogshit run, with piss poor performances.

Pep cant evolve without the players....

Another manager comes in tomorrow....do you think that that would change anything in the way we perfofm or play - I dont.....we would see different tactcis potentially, different set up but the fact is simple....none of that works with players who can no longer play the physical side of the game at the top level and there in lies the problem with 3 of our key players...Gundo, KDB and Walker
It's difficult to see how Pep can turn things around from here and I'm normally the most positive about our current situation. Maybe tomorrow I'll think differently but I just cannot see a solution to the adding up of the losses. The rot is not stopping. I thought Forest was a watershed but the injuries accrued from that game put us back further. Akanji and Ake are not back 100% fully fit until January at least. Had we had one of those 2 today we would have won. Maybe he should give himself until end January , sign a central defender as cover for Akanji and/or Ake( because they can be injured again by season end) and a DM and then if it is still not working have a look at what would be the inevitable.

Thought we were the better team today but throwing it away like that is hard to take. Still think we'll make top 4. United will be nowhere near. In terms of the prognosis, we're in the same position we were at 4.29pm: We need a rebuild. We've left it late and made it harder for ourselves but it's nothing we haven't come back from before.

It was a mid-table Championship level game at best but we'd done just about enough to win it. Then we needlessly threw it away yet again.

Khaldoon & Soriano should be sitting down with Pep tomorrow and looking him in the eye, asking if he's got answers. Great if he has but if he hasn't, then we should start looking for his replacement. Quickly.

While there is no comparison between Pep and Mark Hughes as managers, this is like the situation with Hughes back in 2009. He had no answers to the inability to win games and was shown the door. Yes, Pep. has credit in the bank but he's rapidly going into his overdraft.

Spineless cowards

Some things are unforgiveable.... that's one of them

This team are not spineless cowards.

They've won a treble, 4 titles in a row, setting record after record.

Something many on here are so quick to forget because they can't deal with losing games.

The team has come to an end in its current form. Compounded by an injury to the world's best player. The club and Pep will rebuild it.

In the meantime people need to stop with the over the top comments.

I don’t know what al the fuss is about.
I’ve only managed to get to the match once this season against Forest and it was a great game I really enjoyed it. 3 goals, clean sheet, perfect.
I don’t know what the rest of you are going on about.
