United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I read somewhere that matchday ticket revenue, including seasoncards, are a very minor part of a top club's income. And that they could still make money playing in an empty stadium. It's simply that empty grounds wouldn't look good on the telly. Remember lockdown? All those banners placed over the empty seats?
But if people we'ren't watching, would advertisers advertise. It's the same argument. There is literally no professional sports without an audience, however that audience chooses to consume the product.

At least 2 goals per game it seems. We need a 3 goal start.

Exactly mate. Never fancy us to keep a clean sheet due to the countless fuck ups in defence. Holding out for a 1 nil win is asking for trouble. Nevertheless we still insist on playing it out from the back, but without any intent on getting the second goal. Heart is literally in my mouth when the balls at Walker's (and others) feet and they're being closed down. Some of them just aren't good enough to do it. Rather they just hit it up the byline ffs.

One of my main pet hates is when we have a goalkick and Ederson just rolls it out to the back four. They dick about with it trying intricate 5-10 yard passes amongst themselves for about 45 seconds until they either lose possession, get intercepted and concede an opportunity or put themselves under that much pressure they end up booting it up field anyway. I bet you could count on one hand how many times that tactic has been beneficial so far this season.

The tone of Peps voice the past few months has been strange, I thought a few months ago

I actually thought we played well until KDB went off. Him and Foden looked like it was clicking in parts and Gundogan had a decent 30 minutes.

Nunes played decent until that nonsense and his head went. Nowhere for the second.

The result will be massively damaging to the players tonight.

Truth is we’ve gone to the well of Pep’s genius too often and gotten overconfident. Akanji, Rico, Gvardiol at left back, Nunes, Kovacic and more are nowhere near starters for us.

We’ve let top players upset over lack of game time leave easily and as a result we’ve a bunch of average cogs who look nothing without other players doing the hard stuff for them.

We are paying the price for so much success.it feels poxy tonight but I’d rather this than losing titles over the last few years by a point or two.

In an alternate reality we didn’t do 4 in a row but Alvarez, Palmer, mahrez and Laporte etc are still here so we don’t face this crisis.

I’m glad Khaldoon saw that. Time to reload.
