Reform 2025 Limited new name same business

A “lady threw a milk shake at Farage he wants her in prison”. Our justice system is to blame he wants her locked up” That’s what we will get if he gets hold of power not houses but more prisons
More to the point, he's said it's two tier sentencing again. I wonder which other crime he's comparing this complete outrage with!

I suspect he may be comparing it someone recently getting several months in jail for shouting at a police dog?!
He might be, but you’re tried using the laws when you commit the offence.

He knows that. He’s being disingenuous as usual.

But hey, it allows you to mention a police dog again, so it’s not all bad, is it?

Tried using the laws of the time but sentenced under the same government. This has been discussed at length so no need to reopen but suffice to say there are different opinions on the reasons for the sentencing differences between different crimes.

Indeed. You don’t understand the difference, so call them the same.
Alan, Farage aside, you appear to be under the impression that the UK judicial system is totally free from any sentancing disparity. I on the other hand believe there are some massive sentencing disparities. Happy to PM you some examples if you wish.

Each case is different and the judges have the guidance to guide them to where they believe the offence to be.

Lobbing a milkshake at a member of the public is not the same as threatening the police whilst in a mob. (See the difference between assault and affray)

This is a case of assault, and if everyone who committed assault was jailed we'd need another Strangeways.
I agree, I'm not particularly saying she should have been jailed. I'm saying that this case when compared to other sentences in recent times highlights some of the sentancing disparities in our judicial system. Alan and others use the sentancing guidelines to excuse/explain these disparities. Sentancing disparities in our judicial system are a well known issue and past governments have had reports done on them.

But a true comparison would be if someone threw a milkshake at Starmer, Badenoch, or even an ordinary citizen. If that person was jailed, you could say they had been treated harshly.

Comparing it to sentences for rioting, arson or throwing bricks at police is obtuse. It's like comparing a sentence for stealing a pack of bacon to those given to the Great Train Robbers.

Games Workshop contributes more to GDP than the entire British fishing industry.

We might as well worry about the state of the traction engine construction industry. I can't understand the romantic obsession with fishing. Like moaning about the fact that the tea clippers aren't around anymore.

The only one I can equate it to is the Corbyn one which to me seems like a consistent application of the guidelines.
