It is currently the worst value bet I've ever seen in my life to be fair. Nobody should take 1/6 on us finishing in the top 4 at the moment, no matter how strong your faith. It's up there with the worst price I've ever seen in any market ever.
 
If the rot continues then we will finish mid-table. We will pick up enough points along the way not to slide closer to the bottom than that - although no doubt there will be some speculation along the way.

Decisions will need to be made in December/January whether we bring in some players to shore up this season - or if there is someone who is part of the major rebuild who could be brought in. In my mind a ball-winning midfielder is the priority.

Mid-table then gives a couple of possibilities - if we can make it into the CL play-offs, and we began to piece together some form - we become dangerous. And if Pep was able to prioritise the CL then who knows what could happen? - It would be so funny to finish 24th in the league format whilst Liverpool sail through unbeaten and then go on and win it! But I know I'm dreaming - more likely is a two legged defeat to Brest.

But that would give space to rebuild in the summer (despite the distraction of the Club World Cup) and a fresh start in August - perhaps without European football, or in the Conference and able to rest key players like Chelsea are doing this season.

The disparities in wealth and the kudos amongst players that we have built up in the last 10 years means that a total drop-off is unlikely. Just look at the way that Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea have been able to recover from lean years - or that Tottenham or United can still be treated as if they are potential champions. We will remain an attractive club to come to and the leadership know the formula.

And what will Pep do in all that? He won't want to leave things in this situation. And he will want to prove that he can rebuild - yet I can also see him getting frustrated with a situation he is struggling to control. Perhaps FA Cup winners, European & World Champions would give him a nice treble to finish on?

We can but dream :-)

That wasn't really the point of his metaphor, not in the context of all above.

But tbf I knew the guy is consistently a total arsehole, it was my mistake trying engage in any capacity never mind in good faith.

"good faith"??...you've called him a "fanny" and an "arsehole" during the discussion..wouldn't like to encounter your definition of "bad faith"!!
 
Having been a fan for over 62 years, and given the owners have invested so much in and around the stadium, this is a temporary setback. There was a much bigger one after Joe Mercer left. It might take a few transfer windows and a decent successor to Pep, but I can’t see City selling up.

I knew the guy was an arsehole but tried to engage in good faith? course you did sweetie.

So basically you piled in with preconceptions and weren't big enough to admit you were wrong.

As you can't debate in good faith nor use common sense when it's pointed out to you I think it's better you don't bother me in future, as you have also used abusive language twice I will reply in kind.

If the rot continues, the joists collapse and the house falls down. Then we are obliged to find football boring and lose all interest in it. (Rag rule 6.8.)
 
Well Ruben Dias injury is a blow, but we do not want it to be the reason why if we lose, I want to see us try to win the game going down kicking and fighting and if we lose then OK, What I don't want to see is players walking around and ghosting or many of the player's case this season is they are hiding and not wanting the ball.

Win Lose Draw.. playing in the right way and fighting hard is all we ask, Manchester City fans never ask or demand glory ? All we want is pride in battle and if that is not good enough is ok
 
I think it will continue this season , get top four and rebuild in the summer i hear loads say , but when ? We are at that twatty tournement , cheeky is leaving , we have to manage those who are leaving as well as trying to get very good players in. I forsee half the players will still be on holiday when next season starts
 
Dias is a blow but we have players returning, Bobb must be due back soon and providing we dont pick up any more we can enter thr transfer window with just Dias and Rodri missing, a couple of good buys in the window and we will be back
