Team does look a lot better in my head with the prospect of Stones and Kovacic coming back into this.

Ortega
Walker, Stones, Dias, Gvardiol
Kovacic
Foden, Grealish
Bernardo, Haaland, Doku

Hopefully we can nick a point.
Akanji at rb and I’d be a lot more confident. Is he still a no?

Please be fit to start both of you…

Whereas I am thrilled they're back, I really don't want their return to be an excuse for the board to sweep our problems under the carpet. Today they're fit, tomorrow they, or others, might not be. Therefore, we need to act in the transfer market. I hope these last few months will act as a warning to our management. It would be wonderful to turn this around now and start winning, but say we win at Villa, vs Everton, Leicester, West Ham. Does that mean we don't buy anyone in January? I certainly hope not.

Strangely if it were not for that late monumental double fuck up most people would have praised Nunes on Sunday evening. Very difficult to put him any where else other than the bench at Villa but he did look better in that role.
He was fucking terrible all game long. He was hiding for long spells. Win, lose or draw his was a shameful performance.

Smacks of a lack of football IQ this post.

I don’t rate Nunes (Think he’s too lightweight, lacks grit and makes bizarre decisions at times) but he was quite clearly doing a good job at full back against United until his ‘brain fart’ moment. If it weren’t for that ‘brain fart’ moment then yes, he would indeed have been praised for his performance by myself and many others and rightly so.

Either way, good performance in the derby or not, I still don’t believe he has the steel, grit and decision making to play at the top level despite his obvious technical ability.

If you think he was doing a good job maybe your IQ barometer is faulty. He was awful - casual misplaced passes, easily brushed off the ball, turning into trouble, lack of awareness - generally out of his depth. And that’s just critiquing his tactical and technical performance - discussing his lack of steel and grit is a thread in itself

Feeling positive about this, and a great day it could be.

Pub for 12. Beers. 3-1 City. I think we’ll turn up and go for them tomorrow. Cannot wait.
I feel the exact opposite to you mate, 3-1 Villa. I think we're shot as a team, the players look physically fucked, the style of play has gone to the dogs, we're in a real mess. The concerning thing is that every single player is off form. You can maybe carry 3 or 4 but not a whole squad

Oh come on, it’s Christmas!
