Bruno Guimaraes

If it's true, and he wants to stay, then credit to him, because he is passing up the chance to win anything until the end of his career and a bit part player at that. He must love the club and fans (and maybe the money too).

Personally I would love him here, PL experienced so less risk, a position we need, the ability to play others and that's before Pep gets a grip. Fee/wages are irrelevant.

To be honest there’s 2 ways to interpret that.

Could easily be a nice bit of PR to retain a relationship with Newcastle fans long after he’s left. He doesn’t want them to hate him.

Or it could be a sign he doesn’t want to leave at all.

Both are valid interpretations.
If a bid goes in from us now it’s the first one. We will know if he doesn’t want to leave.

Yeah I’m leaning towards it being good news too, not bad. If we assume that tolmie is correct and the club is going to make a formal approach for him, you’d like to think we know via the agent how the player would feel about that. I mean, surely we know the lay of the land. It’s inconceivable that we wouldn’t.

We will be either bidding now, knowing he wants to come or he wants to stay and we won’t bid. There’s no way we don’t know his intentions before we bid.

Unless this has happened since because he isn’t keen on a move. We will find out soon enough.

Could we why the Kimmich talk has started again which I’m not mad about.

Sounds like he's leaving to me

They're going to sell everyone else before they sell the golden geese (Bruno, Gordon, Isak).

Don't forget, they're actively competing with us for Champions League football.

If the money is right we would sell anyone, we've hit the wall with PSR and probably the only way we can progress is by selling one of the golden geese to free up PSR headroom. We have no one else saleable. We reportedly offered Gordon to Liverpool in the summer.

In addition if he wants Champions League football next year he's probably better off staying where he is.
There is also that factor but we could still throw extra money if he, or more importantly City wants the move.
