Last Film You Saw

The Cover with Jude law based on a true story, white power in the states. 7/10 worth a watch

'The Cover'??

"The Order"

Flavours of the month Jude Law and Nicholas Holt starring.

Not every film has to have a formula of beginning, middle and end and this displays that. It gets to the necessary bits which a viewer might make the observation of with an another film of this type. Is that good? I don't know.

I like when Brits take US lead roles as they have no skin in the game for US mannerisms and the interpretations are free flowing. Just my opinion.

It passed the time.

The six triple eight on Netflix. War drama about a regiment of black American women who have to sort out the mail backlog in WW2 whilst experiencing prejudice.

Decent watch 6.5/10

Love Actually, a boxing day tradition. I sit watching almost the entire film with a big stupid grin on my face, I love it, with the exception of the Emma Thompson story line

The Reader. About 10-15 years old now. I'd never seen it. Very good and thought provoking. Kate Winslett and Ralph Feines - who was superb, as ever - as was the young German actor who played Bert Trautmann in The Keeper. 8 out of 10.
(It had a big fault in the plot that stopped it getting a 9, but I won't bore you with that detail, or I'll be typing till the New Year!)
Preferred the book

Perfect summing up, heroic my arse.
Heroism can be shown in various forms, not just on the battlefield. As I understand it, having not seen the film but did see a couple interviews given by a cast member and the Director. These women were part of the only all female, black US company in a time of great prejudices in America and then for one or two of them to stand up against white men, in a very male dominated environment would have taken some courage.

I'm just thinking were they all as fit as that in real life?

I have said too much :)

You can only beat what’s in front of you. It seems they smashed it and did a great job in difficult conditions. I enjoyed the film - well worth a watch.
