Everton (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

The problem is we need signings of the very highest quality, failure to qualify for the champions league will hinder being able to do that either financially or because it will reduce our pull over the top players.

We need competition for places in the squad again. I remember a time we had Aguero, Jesus, Sane, Sterling, Bernardo, Mahrez and Foden competing for the 3 forward spots.
Tevez, Serge, Mario, Edin

Different day, same performance really. We can't defend or keep a clean sheet, we don't put the opposition keeper under any real pressure and we look old/slow/ponderous in midfield.

Haaland going in the tank and missing a pen sums up the state of things, but we can't rest him as we sold the back-up and then did nothing with all the dosh.

Foden & Bernardo aren't playing anywhere near their level either but then again nobody in the entire squad is really - not a single player is in form.

Savinho was half-decent yesterday but you can all but guarantee the same player will be god awful at Leicester if selected. Doku is a 1 decent game in 10 type too so trying to find that game when he does turn it on is like trying to pick gnat shit out of pepper.

A competent opponent would've beaten us yesterday with City twice conceding huge breakaway chances in injury time - thankfully Everton are absolutely toss so we got a point. 12pts needed for safety.

Yes it is. And yes you can if it's lawful. Article 10 of the Human Rights Act 1998 protects the right to freedom of expression.

BOOOOOOO!

Gave you a like for the effort you went to there :)

Akanji didn’t help Lewis out getting the wrong side of his man which left him with having to track two men which resulted in him going after the wrong one.
Akanji was a very good value signing, a bargain, and with strong partners hes a very capable player.
But when he has to be the main man he is too weak and puts others players in the shit , like yesterday with lewis.

Akanjis attempt at cutting out the cross was like watching my u10s swing a leg of lamb at the ball and totally miss.
Lewis was of course woeful at marking

Like Liverpool? Who beat us 2-0 at Anfield?

The fact that most games have one goal in them is quite important.
1 game, most of the rest were winnable.

Your important fact makes it look worse actually!

It shows that teams, poor teams don't have to do very much at the moment to get a result.

I thought Villa were poor but could have scored 4

Everton were terrible but could have had 3

Spuds who are terrible overall scored 4 ffs.

The list goes on. We are piss easy to score against and can't score enough.

Our goal yesterday was a lucky deflection but then Pickford wasn't tested. Our wide men had plenty of opportunities to get a ball in but didn't do it enough.

Fuck knows what the answer is but that yesterday has done nothing to improve confidence in the team.

That goal was a comedy of errors.
Gvardiol and Doku missing when Coleman got the ball in yards of space, Ake hoofing the ball into the air and then Doku miscontrolling the ball, giving it back to Everton.
Akanji skewing the cross into the direction of the Everton player, who still had plenty to do, and took his chance brilliantly.

I don't get why when City get the possibility of a counter attack we don't just hit it long for Haaland. Than we aren't committing to many players forward to be counter attack ourselves. Plus we play to Haaland strength. Plus it gets the crowd going

It's because the 'greatest coach in the world' is obsessed with retaining possession.

Pep is risk averse. He always has been. That's why we're stuck on a 'rinse and repeat' cycle.

Playing on the counter probably isn't even in Pep’s vocabulary.

What are you not happy at? What good will come from booing? Will booing help the team and the manager?
We need full support for our team to get them through until injuries are cleared up, and that will only come when we can buy in January. That will give the injured players time to fully recover.
This team need to feel that we are with them, no matter what. Booing is only going to make things worse. IMO.

We lost 4-0 to spurs but beat forest 3-0 who beat spurs 1-0, we lost at villa, who got hammered by newcastle.

Results are generally all over the place at the moment, it's not just us.
They maybe but how many have won one in 12 and have conceded the 2nd most goals of all the top tier teams in europe?

It's a bit hopeful saying other teams are a bit up and down.
