Kev's looking like Steven Gerrard in his last season now, such a demanding role and once your body can no longer keep up with it you're a shell of a player.

It does seem that way . He finds it hard to get the ball over the wall, does look slower etc but Pep is hoping he can find something like a pass, a game winning goal that'll bring his confidence back

Aside from the players who are rightly fatigued (Haaland, Bernardo, Gvardiol have all played a shitload, others returning from injury), why does our squad fitness/workrate seem so much lower? So many players jogging for the press or to get back & defend.

Foden has been atrocious this season. Had enough rest too, so tired legs isn't an excuse

Rice did in interview on Boxing Day saying he’s really struggled since the euros due to a lack of rest and he’s only just starting to feel like himself again. It does sound like accumulative physical and mental fatigue is becoming a serious issue. Rodri mentioned being at best break point before his injury.

Played ok with ball first half but not so well without it. No real pressing and so lightweight that it is just too easy to play through us these days.

Created a few chances (as have they) and Haaland probably should have at least one goal. Just not happening for him at present. KDB has been a mixed bag, Foden not involved a lot and Lewis does a few nice things but doesn't really stiffen the midfield up enough to make it worth playing him as an inverted FB. Nice to see Savinho get a goal but need a bit more from him. Bernardo a bit quiet. Kovacic has been his usual self.

This game is there for us if we can take some of our chances and tighten top a bit in midfield and at the back.
