Major flooding around Stockport.

The roundabout near Bramhall park is under water. My Mrs sister has just rang her to say her house is flooded, she lives near Jackson Lane. The airport relief road is flooded and shut. The M56 near the airport is closed. Tiviot way near Tesco is shut, it's an absolute nightmare.

New year same shit, looks absolutely shocking hope it subsides soon and people don't lose too much stuff or get hurt.

My heart goes out to anyone who lives in a flood area. There can't be anything worse than the damage caused by water in your property and add to that the fact that insurers won't touch you with a barge pole after the first time.

Looks terrible, needs some major investment in drainage/ flood barriers, some places are going to become almost impossible to get insurance for and almost impossible to sell. It must be soul destroying and takes months and months to clean up.

There was talk that the airport relief road hasn't helped as it's diverted a lot of the rainwater into areas that don't normally flood.
My Mrs sister said the company she has house insurance with has offered £250 for emergency accommodation and there is five in their family. Absolute joke.

Bridgewater Canal has collapsed near Dunham Massey. That's a costly repair.

This roundabout flooding is right near me. It's awful for the home owners. I hope the insurers sort things out as soon as they can and get the dehumidifiers and repairs in place.

The airport relief roads floods all the time. Seems like drainage wasn’t thought about and it’s actually causing other areas to flood.
When the M60 first opened it flooded regularly between Oldham and Denton, the camber was just wrong. Crap planning and design that cost millions to fix

Shocking.
Got a mate who spent good money to move to Hebden Bridge - a known flood area. When I asked why, he said he’d rather suffer a month or so and enjoy the rest of the year with the surroundings.

Mad.
