Season Tickets - 2024/25

That’s what I’m hoping is the thinking within the club, the idea that they can phase season tickets out completely is fanciful. Even United, Liverpool et al with larger match going fanbases haven’t gone down that route. Hopefully once they hit the levels they are happy with, non renewals will be replaced by standard season tickets.

I like a good old moan with the best of them but I have to say that this constantly repeated line about how they’re desperately trying to drive away all long term ST holders, to be replaced by souvenir shop obsessed tourists, doesn’t really stand up to much scrutiny.

Of course I’d prefer my ticket to be cheaper. And a price freeze occasionally would be great.

But we still have some of cheapest ST’s in the country. They offer a 10 month, interest free payment plan for them. Not sure how many other clubs offer that?

There are plenty of valid individual little gripes that people have. I’m not saying you should stay silent and take it up the arse when they’ve fucked up.

But in my 40 odd years as a ST holder, I’ve never felt like anyone is trying to drive me out. In fact when I’ve had the odd issue here and there in recent years, the access dept. have gone well beyond the call of duty to help me sort it out.

That’s only my personal experience obviously.

Nobody is having their season tickets removed, unless they don’t meet attendance requirements, which is a completely different scenario. It’s hysterical nonsense to suggest so, there would be riots if they did it. There are a multitude of reasons to criticise City’s ticketing policies, and I often do, but this idea that they are trying to permanently do away with season tickets isn’t one of them.

To be honest I’m not sure anybody is having their ticket removed even if they don’t meet attendance requirements.

I’ve not heard of a single case where that has happened. Not even…A mate of a mate of a mate, type stories.

That’s not to say it won’t ever happen. But I suspect if it does, it’ll be only in the most extreme cases, where someone is totally taking the piss and not responding to warnings and invites to offer an explanation.

It’s there purely as an incentive for people to use the exchange in my opinion.

As a 51-year-old fan and a season ticket holder since the early '90s, I’ve seen firsthand how much City has grown, not just in Manchester but around the world. I love the fact that we’ve gained fans from all sorts of cultural backgrounds who want to watch City live. It’s something I’m proud of when I travel abroad and see City shirts being worn or sold everywhere. However, I also understand the frustrations about ticketing policies - there’s room for everyone at the Etihad.

I’ve heard Danny Wilson outline the process at oSC Meeting and season card holder with a lower attendance record (vs the rules) get a supportive call from City to Understand if there are barriers to Attendance or not selling on tickets that the a club can help with. Like you say, I can o my see season cards not being renewed in extreme situations.

Yeah, can you imagine the publicity if they just start blocking people who’ve not been to enough games?

They’ll be someone all over the papers about how their dad hasn’t missed a game in 60 years but is in hospital with cancer or something.

I’m looking for some advice please. I’ve changed bank and tried to change the direct debit details on the club site without any joy.
I rang the club and my details were taken and I was told the payment would come out. There were funds in the account, but the payment didn’t go to city.
The lady I spoke to, to make aware was unhelpful and said wait and we will email you once we have done the payment run.
Well today I have had an email and it says to get it sorted out by 9th jan otherwise your season ticket is cancelled- I’ve had it 35 years.
Any ideas how I can change DD details through the website as I can’t work out how to do it? I don’t trust someone sorting it at the office and I have been waiting over half a hour and I know I may end up either someone who doesn’t care, or can’t action the request accurately
Thanks in advance

I'd try the club again...............I've never had an issue when calling the club with problems.

Maybe a bit of a wait yes but always sorted eventually.

My son had to change DD details on his and he had to call them unfortunately, we couldnt find a way to do it online. That said, once he got through to them it was sorted without problem.

Always found it quicker to email them on mcfc@mcfc.co.uk. Tell them exactly what has happened to date. Give them the details of your new bank. Then the balls in their court & you’ve got written proof. So there’s no way your ST will be affected.

I’ve always had a reply to my emails.

100%

Trying to change things yourself online when you've already asked them to do it will without doubt end up in tears.
As mentioned to poster,

Best and quickest way to get a problem sorted.

Has the Flexi Gold window for Chelsea been open yet?

Doesn't appear to be open now.

Last week was too early and next week is cutting it fine, cheers

If you change DD payments within 7 days of your payment due date it won’t go through. You have to make a manual payment. But you do have to phone. No on-line option.
