PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Just joining in with the pile-on :)

Down with this sort of thing
ignoring the link to my name...

i currently have a couple of friends from new york staying with me
and seemingly, according to them, being down is a good thing.

if i suggest something and they reply
"i'm down with that"
it means yes.

i mention this in case any yankie bluemoon readers are confused by your post

The way the MEN has worded that is outrageous. When City are cleared of any wrongdoing I really hope they take some action against the MEN and other media pond dwellers....
I read it merely as statement of either we are guilty of very serious rule breaches or the premier league have wasted everyone’s time nothing to do with being innocent or guilty if cleared

Just get this shit over with it's dragged on forever.
This is what they wanted for it to drag on and as has been posted above by Jam Tomorrow,a orchestrated smear campaign we will be cleared as there was nothing incriminating or illegally done by us,but the court of public opinion has us guilty regardless..

This is what I mentioned about the contrast of what the PL is dealing with. This is no doubt in the PL office - there are City's ribbons...

As Stefan says, yes it would. Unless the PL has evidence that we're not aware of, the related party question is potentially the only chink in our armour as far as the AD sponsorships are concerned. But it's a very, very small one.

And for the cynic in me, it's yet more corroboration that this isn't about the PL acting independently of its shareholders, nobly trying to ensure there is a level financial playing field in accordance with its rules and regulations. It's about our competitors trying to nail us in any small way they can.

You have to think that the ongoing practice of consistently not recording Etihad as a related party will have been scrutinised and re-examined (at the highest level) in the light of both CAS and these proceedings. BDO in particular will be very sensitive to any implied criticism of their professional integrity.

Exactly. I'd be surprised if they hadn't taken external advice, probably from more than one source.

Tbh I quite liked some of the comments made by the muen with regards to City -v- the PL

"this is the man leading the PL in the middle of a titanic legal battle with its defending champions, having lost a courtroom battle with the same club in recent months forcing a significant rule change.....

"Masters did reference the Profit and Sustainability Rules that require changing after City successfully proved the old version was against UK competition law.....

"There was no talk of the independent panel in the PSR case ruling so damningly against the Premier League (although their statement in response claimed a baffling victory so that isn't a surprise)

Lots of true stuff there

is it still January when we can expect any new charges against clubs who failed to keep loss limit over 105m for the last period under check?

I recall it was around mid January last season when Everton and Forest got their charges. (Everton got the first one earlier but that was earlier period fast tracked)

if any club is now charged and given some points deduction I guess we have another wave of but what about City articles...

those shady transfer between Newcastle, Villa, Chelsea, Forest all for inflated prices in June last minute before account closed, wonder what PL's view on those.

City should just continue to ignore the MEN and watch it continue its steep and undignified decline. It’s a joke best ignored.
