TV Series

Ive just started watching Colin From Accounts. Intrigued because it was written by Harriet Dyer who I know from the UK comedy scene. Baffled when it was set in Australia. Turns out Harriet Dyer is also the name of an Australian comedian.

Few episodes in. Its got some laughs in it. It has a warmth to it which I like

My tv standout of 2024.

Mrs Q and I are big CJ Box fans. Apparently they did some series of his books - Joe Picket - anyone know anything about them and how to watch? Ta

I'm more familiar with Paul Doiron books, similar vein and hoped they'd make a series out of those. Anyhow, I watched Joe Pickett and rather enjoyed both series, sadly it's been canceled.

Missing you, the new Harlan coben Netflix show. One of the weaker ones, Watchable but very predictable and forgettable. Steve Pemberton was excellent as always.

Just about to get stuck into SAS rogue heroes season 2, 1st was very good so have high hopes.

Just finished the new adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo. 8 episodes so the story can be fleshed out that bit more but still doesn't encapsulate all of the book (which is a truly magnificent read). A well known tale but worth a watch if you like it.
Which streaming service?

I found the best version was the Gérard Depardieu version.

Lockerbie A Search For the Truth

Gripping. Lots of things about this tragedy I didn't know.
I was in the Falklands when that happened some of my mates got sent up for body recovery from our base in Yorkshire he said it was grim, body parts scattered everywhere, you would literally just find a face in a tree!

8 episodes into the Jackal and enjoying it, but it’s starting to grate on me a little bit. So many massive holes in it. He’s supposed to be the ultimate assassin and he’s pretty much a shit show of an assassin. In episode 7 he spends so much time researching the venue only to position himself behind the bullet prooof glass. Fucking amateur. Also his family tie is just pointless to the story, just these to fill it out.

I have enjoyed it , up to ep eight also, someone said nine and ten are really good. I liked it as he was expertly going about his job then he broke his rule of not meeting anyone in person and it went tits up , doubt it gets a second season
