Snow

I swear some on here would watch their own Nan slip on ice and bleed to death telling them to get up and stop being so dramatic.

Any weather event is the same, you'll always have those who claim it isn't bad and it was 10 times worse when I was a lad etc. As though weather can't be different in two different places. Used to see it all the time with work martyrs when we'd get rare WFH days pre-COVID.

I recall City having a game called off about 15yrs ago because of snow around the ground posing a hazard to fans?
I remember that and I also recall another that should have been called off
There'd been quite a snow covering in the run up to the game, then a spell of slightly warmer weather and the snow started to melt, then we were hit with freezing cold, so the snow that had become slush turned into lethal frozen ice
It was really dangerous making your way across it

I'm 60 years old, mobile and physically healthy. However, I fell in the snow/ice (twice in one day, going to and from work) back in 2021. I had slight concussion the second time.Since then I've really worried about going out in it.

On Boxing Day last week we were at a friend's house and I slipped on their decking and fell down 5 steps, seemingly hitting each one as I went fell. The decking was wet and a sodding death trap. The bruising I had was horrendous and I'm sure I cracked a rib as I'm still in pain when I move and it hurts a little when I breathe in.

I think if you have had a fall in bad weather conditions then you know how easy it is to end up in a right bloody mess.

If you are having trouble breathing you should really get it checked out, there's usually a reason for pain.

I remember flying into Helsinki in a snow storm, we landed without an issue and when taxiing off the runway there was a snow plough behind us clearing the runway for the next plane. They also had loads of de-icer machines alongside the taxiway and at the end of the runway when planes would have to wait before takeoff.

On the bus into the city centre I got talking to a guy who worked for the department of transport in the UK who was over there for a conference, and even he agreed that other countries had a better infrastructure for dealing with bad weather but the UK government couldn't justify the cost of the equipment for rare events. In Scandinavian countries it is guaranteed they need the equipment so the cost is justified.
That’s the excuse they use for heavy rain. We get it every year but we still can’t handle floods. Poor infrastructure

Yeah, my partner and son keep telling me too aswell. To be fair the breathing has been a little easier these last 2 days so I'll just give it a few more days and see how it goes. I'm just aware that rib issues take ages to heal.
Thanks.

Yep, bit tedious those against the hyperbole of weather events are the same ones desperate to play any weather event down in hyperbole fashion.
Only go quiet when it actually affects them.

Didn't we have a game at home against Sunderland called off due to conditions around the ground, Same with the first leg against the Rags in the League Cup, Both under Mancini I think.
I recall the game against the rags. Struggling with the Sunderland game, but I'm no stato so will happily take your word.

The Sunderland game recently recent was off I think from wind & rain.

We did ply them in the late 70's early 80's in the snow which only went ahead with our undersoil heating.

There was a home Arse game a fee years ago where walking from the car was a nightmare with ice.

* haha 2014, 10 years ago suppose as a FOC that's still recent.

The pitch should be playable. The only concern is for the fans slipping arse over tit in the confines of the stadium and LFC shitting themselves that there's 40000 compensation claims arriving on their doormat before the game's kicked off!
It will be people filming themselves walking to the game falling over and smashing their phones and blaming the council for their own stupidity
