He did a decent job vs Leicester when subbed on and face it we looked wide open before he was brought on yesterday. Again it is down to the players to remove him from being captain and it seems Pep does leave it to them to sort it out.
He's the best and most successful fullback in the history of this club and he obviously doesn't get the respect he deserves from a section of City supporters. It's true though that his days as a City player are probably coming to an end.

I am not denying it that after this season it is going to be over but this season isn't finished yet. As I keep wittering on about there are a few twist and turns left in it (although the league is beyond us at this stage).

He's given us so much so no hard feelings. I'm not sure I care that much about his private life, truth be told. But why we didn't cash in for him when Bayern were sniffing round 18 months ago is a very different question. It was clear to everyone when he didn't start the CL final what the direction of travel was for him.

Huh? Just commented on the nature of the outcome. I wasn’t having a go at you for posting it.
Mate, someone stated they couldn't remember any player who's game fell off a cliff so quickly, you replied David Busst.

Just thought that was a shit comparison and totally unfunny. I mean, the same could be said about Glyn Pardoe, but we'd never go there would we.

Ah okay, fair enough. You didn’t like it.

C’est la vie.

I think he was respected in his prime. He just isn't that anymore

First down the tunnel again. Poor performances/legs catching up with him is frustrating but expected.

But being the first down the tunnel after every game - and not facing the TV cameras once during the bad run of form and instead having youngsters go out - isn’t on.

He’s acting like a sulking academy kid.

He’s supposed to be club captain!

I haven't noticed him being repeatedly first down the tunnel but the chaos in his private life that has been sprawled over the tabloids again this Christmas MUST have an effect on his focus. One of the great full-backs of the PL era and an intrinsic part of our success, he has been a hell of a player, but the end is clearly in sight.

I agree Dodge it's not funny. It ruined a promising career and he never really played again. It was probably the worst televised tackle ever.
Fair play to the United physio Deve Fevre and players Dublin and McClair and others who helped in the appalling situation. Reminded me of the tragic injuries to Pardoe and Bell.

£175,000 per week until June 2026

Unless someone's willing to take him on.
He won’t leave and I wouldn’t be mad at him if he stayed in England and still got his money unless they offer him double.
