There may well be thousands of these people who don't drink alcohol for some political reason but I have seen Budweiser bring sold by the bucket loads in Prague and vodka going down a treat in Boston.

The stuff they used to drink was mostly Russian vodka, I think, and something called Greygoose when the cheaper vodka was in short supply.Vodka is traditionally a Polish drink
I worked in the Czech Republic , not long after the split, near Brno for the best part of 2 years.Why wouldn't you? It's a Czech beer.
Tescos in Levenshulme ran out, it was fucking horrendous.All the fuss before Christmas about a Guinness shortage….perhaps it was just a marketing ploy to sell more,I don’t know of any pub/supermarket or off licence that ran out or had limited stocks either before or after Christmas/new year

The drink their was Budvar version and the pubs did not and would not sell Budweiser ( the US Anheuser Busch) beer.
When I went back a good few years later Budweiser (US) was everywhere, along with Heineken and other European beers.

I'm probably confusing people with the 2 names.It is Budweiser Budvar though it even says it on the label. When I was last in Prague everyone I saw was on that or Staropramen. Who goes Czechia to drink that other shite!

The Budweiser Budvar is a nice drink ( the Czechia version) but there a load of places now selling the Anheuser Bush Budweiser now.
I'm surprised they haven't tried changing brand names or maybe they have.
