No, you're confusing last ditch tackling with going to ground as a habit.

The defender in the OP's video seems to do just that which, I'm saying, Guardiola would coach out of him.
I don't see it personally. Its a highlight reel of his hard tackles. Doesn't mean "he goes to ground as a habit." Thats just your assumption.

If you watch Konpany's, Otamendi or Dias highlights. It would be chuck full of such tackles. This doesn't mean they spend more time on the ground.

I went and caught Khusanov's whole game against Montpelier and the greatest asset he'd bring to us, outside of his ridiculous speed for a Center back, is his decisive passing and the touch on his passes.

From what i saw, he is far better at passing than any of our Centerbacks, and i include John Stones.

I only saw 2 crunching tackles that game. Mostly he just got to the ball faster and positioned himself well. His partner in Defense was pretty quick too. So they were both problems Montpelier.struggled to solve ciz through balls wasn't much of an advantage for the attackers.

Im quite optimistic about the prospects of getting him.

You been drinking? Or not got your glasses on? ;-)

Lovely. Doesnt actually address any of the absolutely dire need areas in the squad but here we are.

I'd argue it does. With Walker on the decline and Akanji running in treacle (presumably unfit/knackered) and Ake being unreliable (despite heroic efforts the past few weeks) we are desperately missing pace at the back.

I'd go as far as assuming the plan wasn't to bring this guy in during January but needs must.

I agree, though, in that we need a centre midfielder with energy. But good to see the club targeting key areas so quickly into the window. Box this and Marmoush off then there's 3 weeks to concentrate on midfield negotiating.

Do we feel these are top class players that will get us back to winning the league and competing for the Champions League, or are they players like we’ve brought in recently where they might turn out good but we don’t really know yet?

Price seems inflated but January premium is what it is. I don't pocket watch clubs.

If the club feels like they need to reinforce the defensive side of the ball and Khusanov can make a difference then whether it's 20, 30 or 40 mill, it's fine.

I like him as a prospect and it's an exciting link in January.

We have Pep. Akanji wasn’t classed as world class. Might still not be. Same with Ake. Same with Grealish.

It’s rare you have/need more than a few world class players in your side (Haaland, Kev, Dias, Rodri, Foden) with the rest being great supplements.

i Mean one is one of the best young CB so if he‘s good enough he could make a name for himself right away and the other is dominating in his league. If both get better by playing with even better players than why not? Considering there‘s still a summer where the club might move for their MAIN TARGETS once certain players leave. I don’t think Wirtz will leave Germany. Musiala has a higher chance to join the English league.

The chance to buy players from other clubs are like 0% nowadays unless you are Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Sounds like a walker replacement that can actually pass. Pace is such an important ability and we need to replace walkers. Back to 4 center backs which has worked brilliantly for us.

Apart from it does
I'd suggest the hold midfield, central midfield, striker, right back and left back areas all desperately need addressing before signing a kid Centre Half who seems to be a bit of a project.

Unless the club has no ambition whatsoever of finishing anywhere near the top 4 this season.

What we currently have will secure a finish somewhere between 8th - 10th if we are honest with ourselves.

My view only is, he will push Walker for the remainder of the season, while he beds in to the PL. I have the funny feeling as he is better on the ball can pass, can cross, can control the ball, that Walker has a fight on his hands that Lewis can not give.

I’d probably say the second one. This signing in particular is more about potential.

Recently I don’t think we’ve really signed anyone who’s better than what we had before.

Lewis is already better than Walker. Walker has been the best RB the league has seen but he's finished at this level.

Might turn out good but we don't really know is the nature of the modern transfer market. If they're good they win you the league and if they're not you move them on. Madrid just spunked money on Mbappe that appears to have made them worse. Football innit.
