Might turn out good but we don't really know is the nature of the modern transfer market. If they're good they win you the league and if they're not you move them on. Madrid just spunked money on Mbappe that appears to have made them worse. Football innit.

De Bruyne was Bundesliga player of the year and wanted by the likes of Bayern & PSG. The media might have played him down but all the positive signs were there.

dont know much bout this guy. dont think he makes the first eleven a lot unless injuries keep happening at the same time for our CBs which did happen this season earlier.
if we are thinking of letting Stones leave as he is a huge sicknote and that aint gonna improve imo as he gets older, maybe this guy is ready to come in and in that time improve to fight off Ake, Akanji to partner Dias?

or we planning to use a back 3 a lot going forward, in that case makes sense to get a 5th CB (Gvardiol also counts).

a week ago 20m euros were quoted of his price now its 30m in GBP. going up as we speak.

We would either play him at RB, or move Manu to RB. He is competition for Walker and Rico, IMO.

This might be a ridiculous take but I wonder if Pep sees him as a DM given his extreme pace, recovery and tackling power? Just a passing thought!

I'd suggest the hold midfield, central midfield, striker, right back and left back areas all desperately need addressing before signing a kid Centre Half who seems to be a bit of a project.

Unless the club has no ambition whatsoever of finishing anywhere near the top 4 this season.

What we currently have will secure a finish somewhere between 8th - 10th if we are honest with ourselves.
I bet you every penny I have and everything I own that we don't finish 8-10th

His pace is gonna be a real asset for us. Losing Walker means we lose the dimension of recovery pace to our defence. Now we have that ‘Van De Ven’ profile.

I’m happy. Someone to rotate with our existing defenders. Not gonna be first choice I expect straight-away anyway (although we all thought Akanji would be purely for depth). Getting another body in is invaluable.

I don't see it personally. Its a highlight reel of his hard tackles. Doesn't mean "he goes to ground as a habit." Thats just your assumption.

If you watch Konpany's, Otamendi or Dias highlights. It would be chuck full of such tackles. This doesn't mean they spend more time on the ground.

I went and caught Khusanov's whole game against Montpelier and the greatest asset he'd bring to us, outside of his ridiculous speed for a Center back, is his decisive passing and the touch on his passes.

From what i saw, he is far better at passing than any of our Centerbacks, and i include John Stones.

I only saw 2 crunching tackles that game. Mostly he just got to the ball faster and positioned himself well. His partner in Defense was pretty quick too. So they were both problems Montpelier.struggled to solve ciz through balls wasn't much of an advantage for the attackers.

Im quite optimistic about the prospects of getting him.
We used to call that reading the game well.

I hope every defender we go for now has pace. Should be mandatory when playing such a high line. Just a replacement for Walker shouldn’t be enough. The replacement of Stones and Aké should be hell of a sprinter too. Just to make sure and not to get dependent on this guy when playing the likes of Real Madrid.

Those with pace usually the first ones to get injured every 5mins as well. Walker a complete anaomly.

Otamendi is still on the ground now.

Both him and the new Brazilian guy have something in common.

Physicality and aggressiveness.

They would be really good as a RB that tucks into the RCB spot when the LB goes up.

Then have Doyle, Ake, Dias and Akanji as CB options with Gvardiol and 1 more as LB.

Glad you’re saying Doyle, think he could be excellent for us.

Also very young and untested in over more than a season in Adult Men’s football!!

And will need time to get used to the speed and nature of the PL.

Which with our current form, they are unlikely to get or experience in a good way.

So would rather that we try to develop the current AcademyEDS players and bring them through or send out on Loan to another PL team, for bringing back to The Eth

Our whole squad needs pace, we are a very slow team.

Also speed!!! They are both super quick. Looks like that high line isn't going anywhere anytime soon :)
