PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

That is the bigger indicator for me. Ambitious young players and professional agents would be pretty reluctant to be coming and signing multi year contracts, if they thought there was much if any chance of massive sanctions coming our way. I see it as a positive certainly.
all 3 players we are very close to signing (not all are over the line) have been linked to multiple big clubs around Europe surely that's another indication especially in january when the verdict hasn't been given yet

Our top brass will know the result of these charges by now, so this January transfer splurge potentially up to a 100m can only mean we'll be cleared right?
Or: Nothing screams 'transfer ban' like a club that never signs players in January suddenly going all out for five young players from countries like Kazakhstan, Egypt, Brazil, and Sierra Leone. ;-)

What would even be the point of a 100pt deduction just fucking relegate us lol
A huge points deduction (100 points won’t happen) effectively gives you at least 2 fucked up seasons. Season one you’re playing but know you’re relegated, season 2 you’re in the championship, season 3 you hope to be promoted but might have lost quite a few players and EVERY championship team want to give you a kicking!

The thing the panel would have to decide, in the event of a ‘guilty’ verdict, is what would then be a reasonable punishment. Not a reasonable punishment if you’re Manchester City, but a reasonable punishment if you were, for this season at least, Southampton?

They can’t say City would get 80 points so minus 40 wouldn’t be enough. Also, they’ll be setting a precedent and, as we all know, none of the other fuckers are squeaky clean…..

They're still crying like babies over these charges on sad cafe and rawk. How can they still sign players wah wah wah, when is the verdict wah wah wah. For a little club that nobody cares about, these arseholes do a very good job of dispelling that myth
RAWK haha there the last set of supporters who should be assuming guilt

Why bother

If City won the CL and got relegated in the same season, then the season after would still have automatic entry into the Champions League. That would be a huge slap in the face for many.
