I don’t know where this comes from….a player plays for the team he is contracted to if required. That doesn’t stop when transfer negotiations start.

If you are desperate to sell, maybe you are correct. But when Frankfurt are reluctantly accepting the players wish to leave, why would they not play him when the player himself wants to play in whats looking like his final game? They would be happy with not selling him.

Fair point, but it’s also a risk to play a key player when they’re on the verge of a potential transfer, especially since the deal is imminent and just a few days to completion. One bad injury, and the player and both the clubs lose out. Managing the situation carefully benefits everyone involved.
