Omar Marmoush

It's hard to know how good he is for real.. and where he will play, but it's exciting at least. Maybe drop of Haaland initially, cos to the left its crowded. The "Alvarez role".
Yes and yes. Its almost certainly s purple patch. But his underlying talent suggests a very good player.

It's not a plan we have to rigidly stick to, it was just specific to this instance where we were interested in a player for a lot of money and there was somebody of a similar calibre available for no money. We've got a big rebuild on our hands. We have a lot of money but its going to be stretched thin in search of everything we need, i saw potential to save money without sacrificing much in my eyes. Is Mamoush £60-80m better than Sane? Maybe he is, I've not been watching the guy for years to be able to say but my initial thought is no he isn't.

Anyway, the entire conversation is seemingly redundant now. Last night the talk was of a summer transfer and everything i said was based on that. New reports are now suggesting an immediate transfer and less money involved rendering all my comments irrelevant.

I quoted somebody else just yesterday calling the idea we havent spent much in the last few windows being down to the 115 charges as nonsense and this is the exact same thing just on the other end of the spectrum. There's no correlation for you to get to that conclusion.

I think your opinion is nonsense. There’s zero chance we pay 50 mil for him, give him big wages and potentially also sign a defender and midfielder if we believe there’s a possibility we are going to be relegated. Literally zero.

Likewise, with someone like this who lots of clubs are looking at there’s also zero chance he / his agent will not ask for reassurance the club is not about to fall off a cliff given the verdict is due within 2/3 months.

Alvarez played more minutes than anyone else last season.

Really? Christ. He always felt like a bit-part player to me.

I'd be interested to know how many of those minutes came when the team wasn't riddled with injuries given he took the place of Haaland when he was injured and likewise De Bruyne near the start of the season.

With a fully-fit squad, he wasn't a starter. That's how it felt anyway. I'd assume Marmoush would need certain assurances of that.

Nothing to do with it, their job if they have to sell him is to get the highest possible price for him. What they paid doesn’t come into it.
If Frankfurt had paid 30m for him and we were now coming in offering 80m for him they're making the same as getting him on a free and us paying 50m. They'll have done very well making those returns after a season and a half.
