Great player, deserves all the credits he gets and should always be mentioned amd thanked for his immense service. Never warmed to the guy, and should have gone much sooner
 
The captain asking to leave mid-season when we're going through it, only to play abroad, is precisely why he shouldn't have been the captain in the first place(Yes, I know the players voted for him).. and him going to Txiki instead of Pep must feel like a giant slap in the face to Pep, especially given how much Pep has stuck his neck out for him. I don't think Pep would have mentioned that part if he wasn't hurt.

For many years, he was the best right back in the world, but I don't remember him even remotely with the same fondness as I do Zaba, despite winning far more with the former.

Pep doesn't handle transfers. We don't know if hasn't spoken to Pep about it already.
 
There's no doubt Walker lifestyle issues have well and truly undermined his legacy however;

Yes, he's been tailing off quite badly in the last year but for many years before that he's been absolutely brilliant week in week out.

And for that reason I'll not speak badly of him.

He's seen the writing on the wall and realises that he's maybe got one opprotunity to cash in with a big move, maybe leave some of his baggage behind.

Thanks for all the great games Kyle, I'll not dwell on the tail off, time waits for no man.

He's done the right thing asking for the move now, we can get a big wage off the books, he can get a cash rich move to a league he can still be competitive.

Best outcome for everyone.

There were rumours before Christmas that several Saudi clubs were interested, so this comes as no surprise.

It also wasn't lost on me that when coming on as a sub recently, KDB retained the captain's armband. This spoke volumes imo. I also think the fan hurling abuse at him has forced the issue. He may as well leave now, rather than the summer, as I doubt he'd be getting a new contract.

If nothing else, this announcement brings clarity to our defensive situation, with three weeks of the Window left. He'd have been leaving inthe summer in any case, so we now know what we've got to do.

Thanks for everything Kyle. You became the best RB in the world, the best in PL history imo & the best City have ever had. Good luck for the future.
 
done his job, wonderful player in his pomp and has had success other players can only ever dream of. Good luck captain
 
Grateful for everything, proved me wrong and then some when we signed him, right decision if he does go given his performances the past year

Easy as that really. Hope we've a right back lined up
