So, I submitted a freedom of information request to the BBC and got a response today…

If I were you, I’d try to word it from a financial perspective

I’d also spiel some bullshit about it being for a Uni project too ;)

Ie how much has the BBC spent on sending reporters to cover Manchester United’s pre season tours over the past x amount of years

Then repeat the question for other clubs

Plus
How many times has x club had a dedicated reporter sent on their pre season tours over the last x years

Then again repeat with other clubs

Good example of the way reporting on City is out of control.

Look at the state of him- nerdy teaboy calling himself ‘Man Utd reporter’ feeling empowered ( probably after talk with Herbert in the canteen) to post snide tweets for engagement from his red followers.

This and the lies from Paddy Power are the result of allowing a free for all for years and years. A full house against Salford was fantastic - yet it’s followed up by that Paddy Power pic and it happens time and time again.

The penny will drop one day at City and they will have a rethink on how to counter the constant flow of snide negative reporting.
For everything that our owners have got right since the take over, this is one area they have got horrendously wrong, in my opinion

It is that last bit that is key as that screws their excuse of “journalistic reasons” if no one has followed City, Scouse scum etc as much

Yet back in the 2017/18 season Vicky Kloss told us that, relatively speaking, there were no more negative articles about City in the press than there are about any other club! She said the club had done their research on this and that was the conclusion they came to. Hearing that certainly raised a few eyebrows from those of us who were in attendance.

City employees genuinely believe that too. A lad I know, big blue and in the media team at City, laughs at me when I suggest this. It's like they have an oath together to never criticise their employment sector. So City don't believe it is happening, which is why you see no backlash

On LinkedIn you often see City employees liking tweets from the official United accounts and others. A lot don’t have an emotional connection to the club and just see it as a job so don’t care about the negativity.

For some yeah, but as my post above they just don't think it is happening, including lifelong city fans.

Appeal to the Information Commissioner, based in Wilmslow maybe you get a blue handing the complaint Need to emphasis the public interest about how the BBC is spending the license payers money and if there is a bias contravention with the BBC charter

That just wasn't true. Success of any comms team is measured by the coverage they receive and it is not in their interest to admit to getting it wrong. Marketing survveys and stats can easily be twisted to suggest any angle you want to promote.

The people in the media team will never admit to failing at their job. So many organisations are like this these days. No one wants to be accountable for anything.

The Paddy Power dig was aimed at the fans. The club have made clear time and time again they don’t give a shit about us or how we’re perceived to the outside world so they won’t give it a second thought.

Stop getting stressed out by the likes of Paddy power, football 365 etc.
I love the Emptihad jibes. I just ask them if our trophy cabinet is empty. Smile, have a good week blues.

Paddy Power I can give a pass to as they are actually funny. Some of the vids they have done lately with the 'City fan' calling out the red cartel make me think they must have a sleeper account on here!

Edit: just seen the emptihad picture they posted, this is not what I am referring to, that is about as funny as stepping in dogshit. But can't knock every one out of the park I suppose. They take the piss out of everybody hard to say they have a particular agenda against City.

The first rule of media is never shoot down and give something credibility it doesnt deserve. The worst thing M&S ever did was go after that cuthbert cake, it was marketing gold for aldi and they milked it to the fullest, if we go after any of these pathetic websites, betting companies etc and there ridiculous lad demographic they will milk it for all its worth and will look like ogres and they like martyrs, better to let the little idiots have their braindead laughs and just move on.

If you’re suing you’re losing. That’s the rule in PR.
