Why do they do this?

Paddy Power and other similar companies use dismal social media bants to get themselves in front of people who they've calculated are most likely to gamble / hand over as much money as possible. It's no different to an advert at half time.

It's particularly insidious as it creates an illusion that Paddy Power are people's football banter mates, when the reality is very different.

sneaky dishonest photos from paddy power? the same bastion of moral integrity who took bets on oil spills in gulf of mexico, obama being assassinated, polar bears becoming extinct, the murder of reeva steenkamp, and a deceased former player (ehiogu) becoming a manager? whose hilarious advertising campaigns include blind people kicking cats, and transgender women getting compared to male horses? who have a history of not paying successful punters their winnings, and waiting four years before reporting their customers’ data being hacked?

worthless ignorant scum, brand reputation in the gutter, worst of all through social media crap like this they are consciously targeting the most susceptible marketing demographic in the world, young children, and grooming them to become future addicts.

I don’t have a problem with media companies taking the piss out of City. Every club gets their fare share of that. But what don’t Iike is down right lies, just to take the piss. What is noticeable, is that such adverts have become a lot more prevalent over the last few years, and more companies are doing it, either via a down right lie, or in a subtle, but untruthful manner. Sadly it’s become the norm.

You can just feel the sarcasm, anger and venom for both the Rags, and to a slightly lesser degree City spilling off the page. Nice to see though someone take a pop at Raggies.

Good example of the way reporting on City is out of control.

Look at the state of him- nerdy teaboy calling himself ‘Man Utd reporter’ feeling empowered ( probably after talk with Herbert in the canteen) to post snide tweets for engagement from his red followers.

This and the lies from Paddy Power are the result of allowing a free for all for years and years. A full house against Salford was fantastic - yet it’s followed up by that Paddy Power pic and it happens time and time again.

The penny will drop one day at City and they will have a rethink on how to counter the constant flow of snide negative reporting.
